This video is so chill, I’m glad you where able to save that roll! I really liked the photo at 10:30

Thank you so much! It wouldn't have been my first blank roll... but I would've been impressively sad had it been blank, haha.

Thank you! You absolutely should, really hard to beat for the price.

Ohhhh poor you! Yes always make sure that the rewind thing is turning after reloading ... This video perfectly captures the beauty of shooting on film. I recently started documenting my own analog adventures, and it’s amazing to see how you approach it.

noticed that with the world switching to LED including street lights sometimes 250d just feels better and i find myself reaching for the 85b filter with 500t. Some good shots with you finding a good combo of light temps to play into the films natural balance though.
@alexwahoski3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! 500t with the 85b might be something I try. I could really benefit from having that extra stop, haha.

Splendid, I find myself always doing longer exposures on a tripod at night but to the point of slight overexposure to get more shadow detail..when I used vision3 for the first time it was a game changer and i got deeper black shadows and more dramatic contrast much more easily than typical c41 like ektar. I still manage my exposure with what I want to see in the final image, but its fun to shoot film and see what comes of each roll, also, sweet nikon!

Love this my dude! I'm currently shooting a few rolls of Eterna 250D that I'm stoked for. Side note, way to be a man and bring out that UNIT Nikon F. Much love!

Great images! How are you metering for these images? Do you meter shadows, highlights, somewhere in between?
@alexwahoski3 ай бұрын
Thank you! For these I was favoring the windows quite a bit and so for some of the shots I think I might’ve lost a little too much detail in the shadows. Going forward I might lean more towards the shadow and bring down the highlights in post!
@brianventrudo4523 ай бұрын
@@alexwahoski This is helpful thanks. Also - do you have to take into account reciprocity failure with this film?
@alexwahoski3 ай бұрын
Yes, after 1 sec exposure they recommend accounting for an additional stop. I think I could’ve accounted for more than I did, but I typically added about 50%-75% time after 1 second.
@zedoktor3 ай бұрын
@@alexwahoskiit’s been my experience that 250D has good latitude into underexposure. Do you think those frames might have been pushing the dynamic range of 250D because the highlights look great? Also, do you scan your own stuff?

6:41 is too real. I was doing a night shoot on digital a few weeks ago, and I couldn't get any headlights when I wanted to have cars in one of my shots. I then went to shoot a parked car down the street. I wanted no cars this time, but I ended up getting headlights in my first two attempts. One of the exposures actually ended up looking really slick, though.
@alexwahoski3 ай бұрын
I never think about how many cars are on the road until I need to take a photo without one in it, lol.

Beautiful images, and the film looks great 👍🏻 What lens were you using with the Nikon F?

Thank you so much! I believe every single photo was actually taken with the 28mm 3.5. Love the perspective of the 28 without extreme distortion.

Great video! What tripod do you use?
@alexwahoski3 ай бұрын
I actually used the cheapest tripod Amazon has to offer. I found it at a thrift store and hasn’t necessarily failed me yet, haha. I’m not sure that I can recommend it, but it does the trick. a.co/d/dtUksla

You said you wanted the 50mm but did you shoot with 24mm 28mm? I'm also curious about is on top of you camera, is it hotshoe light meter?
@alexwahoski3 ай бұрын
Yes, all of these photos were with the 28mm 3.5. I usually end up sticking to one lens because it’s so hot out, even during my the night I don’t love carrying an extra bag. The light meter in my viewfinder has died! The battery replacements are a little less than reliable, and to get a hot shoe I would need a rewind adapter and that would become the hot shoe. For this video, I metered exclusively with my phone.
