Small nitpick, when the Dress Down is in play creatures lose all abilities, meaning Sakashima would lose the legend rule doesn't apply ability meaning one would have to be sacrificed. Not sure it would affect the gameplay, still a great game!

Welcome back, Ryan! There was a pretty serious misplay in game 2 with Krarkashima triggers, though. Each trigger resolves independently, and this would have resulted in Noah losing to Pact triggers when fighting over Tainted Pact. Here's the stack: Thoracle ETB trigger, Tainted Pact, Pact of Negation targetting Tainted pact, Krark trigger, Saka trigger. Saka trigger resolves, copying Pact, targetting Tainted Pact. Pact resolves, countering Tainted Pact. Zack has 1 delayed Pact trigger. Stack now looks like: Thoracle, Pact targetting now-gone Tainted Pact, Krark trigger. Krark trigger resolves, copying Pact of Negation, which is forced to target the original Pact of Negation. Copied Pact resolves, countering the original Pact, creating a second delayed trigger, which Noah couldn't pay for. Zack probably still wins, but worth noting for the next time someone decides to make everyone suffer with Krarkashima 🙂
@sPaZzO2stronk2 жыл бұрын
I’ll copy my reply I had for someone who had the same question: When the copies are created, the player may choose to pick new targets. In this case, he would leave it as is, irrespective of whether the targets remain legal, therefore the original and copy would fizzle, meaning only has to pay for the first copy that successfully countered the Tainted Pact :)
@donkekongschlauer61942 жыл бұрын
Hi, I love your Gameplay Guys! I just wanted to say I spotted a little error in the game, where Zack tried to winn with Tainted pact on the stack and Noah countered with mindbreak trap: Since both Krark and Sakashima-as-Krark and esper Triggers trigger at the same time, and it is Zack's turn at the moment, his trigger will go on the stack before the Krark triggers do, so he could't have drawn the pact with the esper trigger. I play Krarkashima myself and I think it is a great deck to find the little subtleties that mtg rulings account for! It was great fun watching the viedeo and congrats to Noah and Zack on their wins!

This game actually made me learn how to navigate into Krark/Sakashima, where countering the original one *if successful* will bin it rather than allowing them to continually recur something like gitaxian probe to their hand. I haven't seen this being listed anywhere, so very much appreciate the tip going into this degenerate deck my friend decided to build!

At around 13:40 I believe there is a mistake, which could be relevant (didn’t watch the rest of the game). Okay so on the stack we have (from bottom to top) thassa s oracle trigger (not relevant here) tainted pact, pact of negation (targeting tainted pact) and both krark triggers. The first one resolves and we have another pact of negation targeting tainted pact on top of the stack. The top pact of negation should resolve countering tainted pact. Then second krark trigger resolves creating another pact of negation which has to target the other pact of negation because it’s the only legal target. That one will resolve countering the last pact of negation. All of that could be relevant because Noah has to pay for pact twice (once per pact that resolved). While Noah played it out as resolving both krark triggers at the same time, which makes it so that the 2 new pacts can target tainted pact therefore only having one pact resolving and only one pact to pay for. Could other people confirm if I am right pls?
@ryznak48142 жыл бұрын
So if I am right Noah would have lost on the next turn, due to being unable to pay. So yeah pretty relevant mistake. Eta: Pact of negation being chosen as the most valuable card is funny cause it should have killed a player.
@alexberner15902 жыл бұрын
One Pact resolved, the other two fizzled. Only gotta pay for one.

@WhiteWizard422 жыл бұрын
"Copy that spell, and you may choose new targets for the copy" - MAY being the operative word. The copy is created targeting the same thing as the original, even though Tainted Pact is no longer on the stack, so you're safe from having to pay for a second pact by just not changing the target.

I am pretty sure that the text you have shown at 1:34 for The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale is incorrect. Tabernacle is supposed to destroy the creature, not have it be sacrificed. This is not often relevant but indestructible is a thing and as I run the card in my Kozilek, Butcher of Truth deck, the situation of an indestructible creature (Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger) with Tabernacle in play comes up from time to time.
