Kodi Lee is the reason why I won't give up on becoming a singer, My family is very musically talented and it goes back to my grandpa and my aunt's dad singing in the bar way back in the 1940s. My sister Alexis has been singing and playing the guitar since 2006. My cousin has been playing the piano ever since 2008 and he is really good at it. My other sister has been playing the violin since she was in the sixth grade back in 2008, and my 2 nephews and niece are good at playing the guitar and ukulele, my 3rd youngest nephew that is 18 years old is in his own band and he got really got at playing the guitar. so he and his friends joined a band. My mom plays the guitar and the piano, as well as my aunt. and I am 23 years old and I have been working on my vocals since I was 17 years old, I even would sing when I was like 9 years old but years later when I turned 17 I would sing for hours in my room. every day and kept working on my vocals until now. The one thing I can't really do is play any of the musical intrusterments, I never learned how the musical notes work, but my cousin didn't either he learned off of where the keys were at and didn't even know how to read musical notes. I'm pretty sure I was meant to be a lead singer though. I struggle with ADHD and bipolar and was put in a special needs class from 4th grade up until 12th grade. I have trouble communicating with people and find it really hard to socialize with people, I hope to get over my anxiety and bipolar/stress. I'm really bad at math but I'm an okay reader. I also hope that I can overcome my weakness and stop hiding in fear. to make the next step in life, so that I can make the right choices. I don't have a job because I struggle with mental issues like having really bad bipolar, not being able to sleep, and other issues like my episodes of nonstop vomiting. Everyone is going through something; if you're alive then you have trials. In this song I start off with taking responsibility for my actions and then I notice that I am not alone when I find god. Through out the song I talk about others and myself loving me as I am as it's a process everyone and myself are undergoing and figuring out. I talk a lot about my thoughts and feelings in the song because they can seem to be the only real thing I have to direct my choices but really they are fleeting. They come and go and they do not define me unless I enable them or attach them to my being. I realize that not all the thoughts I have are mine to keep and not all feelings need to stay for the exact same time. I'm diving deep into my being where I am calm, peaceful, aware, and love. Where no external force can ever damage me again because I know who I am. Someone who can with stand the storm of life.
