As a guy who suffers from depression and anxiety and shutting everyone out. This movie just hit me hard. If you noticed in the movie Shouko didn’t show at all that she was depressed and that she felt that she was a burden to all the people around her. Nobody made her feel that. These aren’t 2 dimensional characters they had depth. They were real. I’m sure someone out there smiles, and doesn’t show that deep down they’re broken. The moment Shoya saw Shouko commiting suicide, it just hit hard. He’s not the one who’s the most broken. This movie helped me. A lot!

I’ve attempted multiple times and shouko is honestly the most real and relatable character I’ve ever seen in any movie tv show or any form of media because his story dives into the irrationality of depression and how you just hate yourself so much and feel like you’d be better off dead even tho there are people who love you and care for you, for everyone who’s dealing with depression just remember you are loved by someone and it always gets better no matter what you think suicide is never ok but don’t let yourself be guilted into keeping quiet, it’s ok to not be ok as long as you get help and try to get better, love you all and remember there’s always a light on the horizon so just keep pushing and you’ll reach it

For people who keep comparing Your Name with A Silent Voice please know that they both are totally different anime, for the starter Your Name has fantasy and supernatural tags in the story and using romance as the main focus and plot while A SIlent Voice is more to realistic matters like bullying, suicidal thoughts, and social problem with romance is just a side matter to the story. None of these things are similiar each other except maybe they both have romance and that even isn't same like i said. So just because they were released not apart each other doesn't mean they have to be compared everytime. And if people say they like Your Name more just let them be because it's their taste, i love A Silent Voice but i admit the movie itself is actually a very heavy movie, probably could be compared to Grave of the Fireflies or The Boy With The Stripped Pajamas meaning not everyone could enjoy them completely, but Your Name is completely a romance anime with some fantasy elements that obviously deny being realistic, it has some bittersweet and tearjerking moments but not as heavy as A Silent Voice so for people who like a sweet romance story could enjoy it more, it's more like Titanic or Romeo and Juliet who target on more casual viewers. Like i said, it's all about the release timing, if there is possibility Spirited Away being released closely with A Silent Voice then i guarantee people would still do the same. So once again please stop comparing both movies and saying this one better than this because they are not even remotely same, i am sorry if my english sounds awful i tried my best..

I feel people only compare them because they are both really popular movies, and were released the same year, mere months apart from each other (Your Name being August 26, and A Silent Voice being September 17)

No way, grave of the fireflies is a whole different style compared to this. Its definitely not for the faint of heart
@irvancrocs1753
@irvancrocs1753 4 жыл бұрын
@@matthewc5341 Yeah both are really different but they both somehow are still a painful movie since everything depends on the context, is being victim of war equal as mental disorders problem? Of course not and of course the first matter is way bigger problem and more hurtful, but is being victim of war could be relatable for many people as same as bullying? This is what i mean, for many people who have experience the latter problem this movie is surely hard to swallow, or people who have experienced the other thing like seeing their dear classmates being bullied in front of them but they can't do anything since they are afraid to be the next target, this could be one of the reasons too. Grave of the firefiles makes us care for the characters for what they have been gone through all the time while most of us can't exactly relate to their problems directly but we understand, while A Silent Voice gives us something somehow relatable because the problem could happen anywhere also perhaps everyday and we are familiar about it.

Ugh I love this song so much, but it makes me a little bit guilty of something I did in the past as a kid. No, I didn't bully a disabled person (I wouldn't dare). But I used to be carried away by the so-called "friendship". (Notice the " sign.) And my "friend" told me not to not befriend one girl, a kind girl, but he and a few of his friends just don't like her. So I was like "K" and then bully her. But I remember, there's always the time when I'm alone with her after school (me and her parents always late to pick us from school) I would say sorry for whatever the hell I done that day. She just smiled and we would play together while waiting our parents, as if I've never done anything to her. It was 5 years ago, now I'm in Junior High and I met the girl I used to bully. She was like, "Omg hey it's been so long!" She was still a nice person. I still feel so bad so the first word I said was an apologize from when we were a kid. But she said, "It's alright, everybody makes mistake." And something like that. And now we're friends. Koe no Katachi always remind me of her. I love this movie so much, and I always feel related to Ishida.

It really is a good movie, and very touching (I cried). But if you want more of an emotional attachment, more character development, more features and plot, and more backstories behind almost everything there is, the manga is a really good read. The movie is fine, it gets the message across to people. But the manga brings in many new things. I really do recommend you read the manga if you feel that way. :)

They lived together In happiness and peace, There was no sin or death, but God instructed them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, because they would surely die. When Eve was walking near the tree the serpent "The devil." Deceived her, and tricked her Into eating the fruit, yet she did not die so, Adam ate of It as well. Suddenly they felt morality, They knew they where naked so they hid from God. God knew what had happened, so he found the two of them hiding, He asked them why they where hiding, They answered "Because we are naked." God asked them who had told them that, they answered the serpent. Had tricked them Into eating the fruit. God already knew this. God Punished Adam and Eve accordingly, death was Introduced, as a regular part of life. Pain. And sin. But the LORD Promised to send us a savior, to save us from our sin. Over a few thousand years later, during the time of the Roman's, God sent Down his son Jesus to save us, Jesus was In the form of man, but was fully man, and fully God. Jesus started his ministries when he was thirty, when he set of, He invited 12 men to join him. They where called his disciples or the 12 disciples. Jesus traveled around, With disciples for three years. He preformed many miracles. He turned water to wine, He brought a dead man back to life. He Loved everyone He ministered to the poor sick, and the people who others would avoid. He Loved everyone. But the pharisees hated him, They considered his preaching Blasphemous They wanted Jesus dead, so they struck a deal with Judas, One of Jesus's Disciples. Judas told the pharisees Where Jesus was. They went there and arrested him. He went through a trial, He was mocked, beaten spit on. A crown of thorns placed on his head. He endured lashes, Lash (A whip with metal, and or bones to make It stick to the skin.) Finally he was sentenced to death, on a cross. Where he nailed to the cross, through the wrists, and feet. Right before he died he asked God to forgive those who had harmed him, that's how Loving he Is. Finally when he died he took our sin's with him, He saved Us from them. He was dead for three days, but rose again. And anyone who believes In him will live forever. @@maxmao3529 well tbh, it's not something very clear. Feels like its being hinted but in this story, romance never was the focus point. You see Ishida grabbing shouko's hand as they cross the door when she was feeling a bit nervous, and as he grabs her hand, she clearly blushes. In the end, the first thing you must take out of it is that both of them ended up happy, even if they didnt actually end up in a relationship (but i personally do think they did end up together eventually. I mean, why bother hinting it if not, eh?) But maybe you should try and give the manga a chance yourself, it is very nice and has many things that the movie left out. I personally recommend it :)

I am going to be honest now. I love this anime. Anyways, that doesn't matter. I don't understand why Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, masterpieces of their time are still shown in schools. Frankly, they are outdated now in the 21st century. That does not mean that they must die but, still, look at these masterpieces of nowadays. This story has so much more meaning than any of Shakespeare's works or even all of them combined. Maybe, just maybe, this should be adapted into literature so that students 50 years from now will not have to learn about Shakespeare's works as much because this has more value and more meaning today.

Honestly, if Shakespeare were alive, this movie is something he could have made and would have a lot of respect for. Just like shakespeare changed the literature of the world forever, I think that a silent voice changed the film industry, with how much is told through facial expressions, symbolism and lore without speaking a word about it, which has redefined, at least for me, what movies can be. Even more impressive is how they handled the topic of disability and mental health so carefully and respectfully. Truly a masterpiece of this day and age.

When I hear this, it's like back to the movie ending, flashback on her smiling face after all people and his friends at the end of movie. Being deaf and "hear" at the same time, physiclaly being healthy, but mentally having problem till the condition to not feel the whole colours of life, ignore the life around. I think both main heroes gona be together, they helping each other to their relief. Important things, they are coming in the end of the journey to realise their significance. Long life and strong health to the artists and studio that made film. I wish I could visit the "ost" musical concert. Sorry for my english, it's not my naitive language ;)

I watch a lot of romance anime and this is the first time that i dont even wanna ship them, im just so happy they are fine. They arent suicidal any more, they are happy. When ishida gave shouko her old notebook she was really happy. Why?, Ishida had given back Shouko's voice.

It would be a long explanation to compare YLIA with Koe No Katachi but yeah i could say its similar but the story didnt say so. If you want to cry with nobody survived i think u need to watch "Grave Of The Fireflies" or if you want the same vibe as Your Lie In April, watch I Want To Eat Your Pancreas

This movie was a love story. Not because they felt for each other, but what they made each other feel. It’s about redemption, forgiveness, depth, relationships, and finally having courage after such a low blow so early in life. It hit me so hard. I cannot express how this movie makes me feel known, acknowledged and validated. That is not something I’m used to. A movie made me feel this way. It has changed my maturity massively.
