Koenigsegg One:1 - Exclusive First Look [Shmee's Adventures]

I am incredibly lucky to be the first to jump on board the absolutely epic Koenigsegg One:1 at the factory for a blast at the runway. With only a little time between test runs and important work being carried out on the car I was allowed a few runs in the passenger seat to experience the mind-boggling power and performance in the first production 'megacar'.
Not only does test driver, Robert Serwanski take us up to 300km/h in moments, but we have a little demo of the handling capability and a rather cool powerslide. All in a car 'only' running in 1150hp mode and on Pilot Super Sport tyres as opposed to the stickier Michelin Cup2s.
A huge thanks to Koenigsegg for allowing me the opportunity in such an incredibly special car, stay tuned for some exciting things in the works and plenty more footage with the Swedish hypercars on the Shmee150 channel!

Here's my lineup for MotorTrend's next Ultimate Drag Race - Ferrari LaFerrari vs McLaren P1 vs Porsche 918 vs Bugatti Veyron SuperSport vs Hennessey Venom GT vs Koenigsegg One:1 . That's like watching the Olympic 100 meter sprint finals. The funny thing is that the once mighty Bugatti Veyron which is by far the heaviest of the bunch would likely come last in the quarter mile drag race. No wonder Bugatti is rumored to be producing a 1600hp Veyron. At this rate, soon super cars will have a "warp speed" button LOL. This car must be one of the most intimidating cars to drive. It looks like a brute and has the angriest engine I have ever heard. Here's what I would like to know - Both the Koenigsegg One:1 and the Hennesey Venom GT have a 1:1 power to weight ratio yet one has more power but weights more (the One:1 - 1360hp:1360kg) and the other has less power but also less weight (the Venom GT - 1240hp:1240kg), so despite both having a 1:1 power to weight ratio, would they both have the same acceleration or would one be faster? My guess is that the Venom GT accelerates faster (between gear shifts that is. The Venom GT has a manual gear shift which will always be slower than a paddle shift) because of it's lighter weight but the One:1 will attain a higher top speed than the Venom GT because of its higher hp. One thing is for sure - with their 1:1 power to weight ratio, both should be roller coaster fun to drive When the Zonda R came out, it was the first sports car to have very protruding front lower spoilers, and I wondered if it's record breaking Nurburgring time had anything to do with those unconventional protruding front spoilers which might suck the car onto the track and I predicted that we would begin to see future sports cars incorporate protruding front lower spoilers into their design. And sure enough both the Lamborghini Veneno, McLaren P1, Ferrari Laferrai and now the One:1 all have very protruding front lower spoilers. Coincidence? One thing is for sure, with such protruding spoilers, you wont be able to drive these cars in areas with high road humps

Well I am not sure about acceleration, although I am leaning more towards the One:1 being faster in acceleration. Reason, traction control, and more power. The Veyron SS is extremely fast too in acceleration, and I know this is also due to it's AWD, but it still weighs almost 2 tons! But there is one other key factor, which is torque. I don't know the stats for either car, but it would have something to say as well.. And another thing to consider is peak power, and the power curve of the engine. The Venom might have a high peak power, but if it's only for a short period of time then it won't help it much in a longer drag race. Same goes for the One:1. But otherwise I agree with you. I actually honestly don't think the Venom GT will be able to touch the One:1 in any area if I have to be honest. One megawatt and traction+grip to ensure +2 G in the corners are just staggering!

From 2:45, this is my favorite car beside AMS alpha 20 GT1R. The stability control of the One:1 is insanely good! With 1000 hp per tonne RWD, it still handles better than a 600 horsepower Corvette. Also, the 2 way clutch type eLSD is a perfect match for its acceleration and braking ability.

In a couple of weeks at the they're announcing the newest car from Koenigsegg, the 'Regera' (English for 'to reign'). 1. Said to be a hybrid like the LaFerrari and Porsche 918, except with an electric engine producing over 700BHP, twice that of both Italian rivals. 2. Company is openly claiming it to be the most luxurious car they've made yet, as well as the fastest accelerating production car on EARTH, which is a damn large claim considering the record is near the 2.5 second range. 3. Also said to be a 'Megacar' like the One:1, meaning it produces at least 1360BHP. They also go on to say it's not track-orientated like the One:1 Let's hope Shmee gets a go in this as well! :D

Roger Toledo If you're only looking at numbers and times, yes, it's easy to predict the Koenigsegg is faster. My question is how does it _feel_? Chris Harris said the P1 feels like "a whole new thing," largely because of the use of electric power to create a torque/power curve that has nearly no valleys, especially between gear changes. Does the Koengisegg's sheer power overcome that shortcoming?

Just realized how Tim can afford all these cars. The average family has two children, but Tim isn't married and doesn't have any Children either. The average cost of having a child is £225,000 per child. That means Tim is saving around £550,000 AT least on not having a family. Not to mention he doesn't have to pay 4x the price of a holiday for extra family. So there you go people, Its how He saved money, not how he made it..

The cost of children is measured at about £150-225k from 0 to 18 and I don't think tim has been saving for 18 yrs. Granted that for the years he has been working he has probably saved a bit though.

Andrew89898 Certainly he is over 40, and by then alot of parents have had their kids move out. Even if he is around 35-40 alot of parents have had kids for 7-13 years or so, which would mean at least £200,000 saved compared to the average family with two kids..
