The Regera doesn't have a traditional multi-gear transmission but instead features a single-speed fixed-gear transmission, often called a direct drive. At speeds below 30 mph, the wheel shaft electric motors mostly propel the car through the use of a hydraulic coupling that lets the ICE and the crankshaft mounted electric motor slip. In reverse, only the wheel shaft electric motors propel the car. Above 30 mph, the RPM of the crankshaft mounted electric motor and internal combustion engine are proportional to wheel speed through locking of the hydraulic coupling. (WIKIPEDIA)

They, and other manufactures, changed the CVT computer to simulate shifting because stupid consumers didn't like the feeling of no shifts.

@@TomekM4 It is faster. The Agera RS loses some time shifting despite being lighter. The best part is the Regera can run on E85 and Koenigsegg's configurator says it gives an extra 200 bhp. Also the Regera has some insane braking power. It stops 1 sec faster and 65 m quicker than a Chiron and the Agera RS from 400.

Actually the gearing on this makes a lot more sense than you think. From 0-200 notice the engine revs to 5k and specifically limited to that. That’s the engine keeping the batteries charged. Over 200 it starts to rev higher as it takes over as the main powerplant. In a sense then this car has one and a half gears: it starts only using the electric motors to move, then the v8 takes over and it’s like the power coming from a massive turbocharger when turbo lag ends, but on steroids.

Two things, if you look at the power meter, the Regera was putting down just 250 - 300 kw (335-400 hp) out of a full 700 hp electric power that too around 200 kph while engine power was 500 kw or 670 HP. Boost was limited to 1.4 bar, and Egg engines can go up to 1.8 bar on gas and 2.2 bar on E85. That means your acceleration run was done with like 2/3rd of its full 1500 HP (and a further 200 bhp more on E85). Now just imagine if you did this on E85 unrestricted.

Aventador SV/J is in fact a single clutch automated manual sequential gearbox. Not a DCT. It could have two clutch plates though. They’ve just refined it very well so it shifts like a DCT but with much more drama, the way it should be! Modern DCT you don’t feel anything it’s sad

It's like the gearbox of a Nissan Versa jajaj, it doesn't have any of the spectacular sounds that hyper car gearboxes produce, but it does have a hell of an engine and it's a beautiful car. but I would not be the customer if I had the economic opportunity to buy it, because the sounds that hyper cars produce are absolutely incredible, it is part of their pure essence.

Gears are too short in Jesko 4th gear is at 120 kph it will result in massive wheelspin in every gear Agera RS One:1 spins till 200 km/h Regera spins till 250 km/h despite no gearbox and technically longer gear ratio and High engine inertia

I've owned a fast car with a CVT and it's only an issue at full throttle, but even with the performance mine had (0-100mph in 11 secs) there wasn't much point using full throttle most of the time so it wasn't an issue- you can use your right foot to make it sound however you want. In one of these it's obviously much faster than my old car so even less of an issue. I'm guessing the transmission will do the same kind of thing too and let your right foot control the revs.

@@eskay6666 Bugatti has been around for more than 100 years... koenigsegg has only been around for 26 years ... when the Jesko Absolut top speed run comes out, I can guarantee you it will destroy the chiron record ... half the weight, more aerodynamic, half the moving parts, more power and looks way better. Remember when Bugatti came out with their 0-400-0 and koenigsegg destroyed that record within days... kept Bugatti quiet for quite some time and the same will happen again in due time
