How about under nutrition and fueling as a factor in sluggish legs? It seems like sometimes we see all the running numbers but leave out the pre and post fueling for running.

I second this. It seems like Kofuzi has done really well getting below the 3 hr mark for the marathon on his own, but with tailored training and regular coaching feedback could push himself to get even better (if that's what he wants).

Have always thought I'd get by / constantly improve with KZbin and self coaching, but this makes me reconsider. Listening to Sage get straight to the heart of the matter based on a few minutes of Strava analysis is impressive. Very interesting to think you could train faster but also probably won't race as fast as you hope. Especially when you primarily use perceived effort. Time will tell how big the gap actually is. Good luck for the half!

It’s great to hear Sage validate that most runners should be running more slowly on their easy days. And Mike, I appreciate how transparent and forthcoming you are with your own training paces to exemplify this. I’ve been very intentional about doing this myself, and coaching other athletes I train to do the same. There are plenty of sub-3 marathoners out there doing their easy runs win the seven+ minute/mile range. To me, it seems they always get injured or plateau. Imagine the improvements they can make by making their easy days truly easy! The both of you are great assets to the running community, and this collaboration was awesome! Thanks!

@Vo2maxProductions8 ай бұрын
that's a good idea actaully...he would probably want to do at least 2-3 sessions in the next few weeks (in case it happens to be on the warm/humid side in Houston).....that being said if weather in Houston is that warm/humid he's probably not going to meet his time goal anyway
