From what I've seen the renaming to Pegasus Plus is part of a bigger push to 'simplify' the line up of shoes. Pegasus standard, Plus and Premium (2025). Have also seen suggestions that it extends to other models Vomero standard, Plus (Invincible, potential rename), Premium (?). So different categories in the line up would also offer a standard, plus and premium option. I'm not certain but I've heard/ seen multiple outlets/ industry people suggest this is direction Nike are going

One of the best shoes (Turbo) that Nike has!!!!
@antic4312Ай бұрын
I feel like Nike finally has a good rotation on deck with the new peg plus. I have been using the Plus for those weekly type workouts and uptempo runs, the invincible for all my easy and long runs, and the vaporfly and alphafly for key workouts and races. I also have the vomero but I feel like it's a worse shoe than the Invincible in almost every way, so I rarely use it. I do think the Mach 6 would make for a better option if you only have a one or two shoe rotation (a do it all and maybe a racer). But if you have a cushioned cruiser and a speedy tempo trainer, you can usually bypass the versatile trainer entirely and have more dedicated options. The Plus should definitely be $160 tho.

Idk if you’d agree, but I think the peg 39 was the last decent peg that came out. I never tried on the pegs in the 30s but based on looks, they look fcukin amazing when it comes to performance and comfort. I tried on the 41 and the 40 at the Nike store, both were just bad. They don’t seem like real running shoes. On the 40 I hated how it was too much padding on the upper, it was just retrded. I tried on the peg plus this past Sunday and I like how they feel. Something I can pick up the pace with. I’ll be ordering them♥️

But in general, I trust nike more when it comes to running rather than their competitors. I didn’t like the trainers from asics and NB. Why turbo is on the outsole- Nike switched strategy midway. they have added this "plus" classification to their basic running shoes. This was going to be a turbo, but then they switched to plus, so it was a rolling change. The molds were already cast, would cost a fortune across the size runs to do over, but upper changes could almost be done on the fly. Same thing happened to adidas boost, the first iterations were called a3 or a/cubed (adidas cubed)- they realized a3 was stupid and bought out the rights to boost (from Hush Puppies, go figure). Do you know who names shoes? Lawyers (IP)

Nike is missing of a shoes with nylon plate and Zoom X, which it should be light, comfortable and responsive. I've broke the flyknit uppersole of my Streakfly during track session, the pegasus 41 is a "vomero 5 style" with tons of cushioning and the double zoom air. like 19 shoes and for the most are all the same. Nike need to improve this side of the running silos, cutting dry branches and re-think as a running company
@tommysiharath6988Ай бұрын
this. The Tempo Next% was a shoe that really surprised me. It was basically an alpha fly except at the heel (react and higher stack) with a different upper. The higher flexibility of the plate also made it bearable for slower runs. That bounce from the zoom air pods was nice too. I don't know what happened to Nike. The Peg Turbo was the training companion to the Vaporfly whereas the Tempo Next% was the training companion to the Alphafly. Now they have no race companion options except to wear your race shoe to do speed work or daily runs. Nike created a bunch of different daily trainers which gives people the impression that Nike running shoe aren't just for running anymore. Like 90% of the running lineup fill the same niche (Daily trainer). They know that they mostly sell to consumers and not runners.
@esci88Ай бұрын
@@tommysiharath6988 i'm 100% agree with you. Nike lost the "brand passion for running shoes" making tons of shoes which fit all the same and the sensation are pretty identical. Only vapor and alpha give different vibes, but the other like 17 shoes are pretty the same. i usually run about 60/70km per week, i' a middle distance runner, and for my tempo workout i used in the past the tempo next but now find a pair in decent condition is very rare. Can only use the vaporfly but i can't afford a pair of it every 2/3 month just because the swoosh doesn't have a tempo shoes. I'm just back from a fartlek with the pegasus plus (which have already 100km on the sole) and for me it lacks responsiveness and springiness especially at 3:40/3:50km. This shoe had to have an air zoom capsule and be the perfect pegasus 41, and maybe the real new version of the pegasus turbo (with a big update) could have a nylon plate for fast training, so that Nike could have a plate not aggressive shoes and cover a greater number of runners

Anyone can please explain to me why nike and other companies keep designing shoes with high drop ? - what is the benefits of having higher drop shoe ? - it's honest question, as I do not see any performance benefit of 10mm drop as to let's say 6 or 4mm drop (i don't have any zero drop shoes to compare) As I don't see any performance benefits but I see downside of higher like 10mm drop - it seems always to be enough foam (or to much) in the heel but at the same time not enough in the forefoot... and as everyone is saying this is the case in peg plus (and peg 41) - Question is - why to make shoe with 10mm drop which make most runners complain for not having enough under forefoot, and why not instead make same shoe with let say 5mm or less drop which obviously would mitigate that issue Anyone please explain that to me 🙏
