I was a bit concerned when Nike sent the marketing goodies on their Pegasus 41 launch to a good number of shoe reviewers, I was wondering if that would help them keep the reviews unbiased? 😅The fact that you always get the shoes 100% out of your pocket is something to be admired given the gravity of your influence, Ben. You are definitely my go to channel when it comes to shoe selection!

Many, many years ago, Nike used to be my go-to brand for running shoes. Perfect fit, great performing shoes. That's all gone at this point more or less, they're a bit if a mess. I'm now on Asics primarily.

fav asics shoes?
@JustBrowsing7774 ай бұрын
@io-rj6sk currently on the Cumulus 26 and the Superblast 2. Cumulus is supercomfy, the upper is amazing, but it's not particularly light nor for fast running. Great for daily mileage and to spare my legs. The Superblast 2 is more responsive and fun and caters more towards faster paces as well, a more all-round shoe, but not quite as comfortable on my feet (upper in particular). I have also tested the Metaspeed Sky Paris, which I would love as a race/session shoe, but can't really motivate the investment right now. Just my take of course 🙂

This Pegaus Plus is definitely better than the Pegaus 41. It's lighter and more responsive. I would have prefer the cushioning to be more plush. It feels a little firm considering it's a full ZoomX midsole. The grey/pink is the nicest. It's a tad too expensive. I would have rather go for the Invincible 3 which is more responsive and plush.

Regarding sizing down: I bought a pair in size 10 and size 9.5. I ran in 10 on my left foot and 9.5 on my right foot. I have a tight thumb's width in the toebox from my big toe in regular Pegasus 39s. Sizing down to 9.5 had my right side's toes feeling sore at the end after 15K and with all paces tested in them. My sizing advice is to only size down if you already have more than a thumb's width in a pair of regular Pegasus, or use 10 in Asics or Adidas. For Nike runners, don't size down - just use cushioned socks (Balega Blister Resist and Hidden Comfort are good examples) and your regular size will both fit well and not leave your toes exposed to pathologies you do not want part in. Cramped toes in running shoes do nasty things to your feet over time. In very thin socks, the Size 9.5 still had my toes gracing the front of the shoe while the Size 10 clearly felt too large. Cushioned socks have been the perfect solution. Thanks for the review.

I've still got a pair of Turbo 2's with not much running mileage on them, when I first got them I couldn't believe how much quicker I could run in them. I bought them for £119.96 in September 2020 on offer(just checked my orders). If I run in them now I feel like I'm running barefoot and they give nothing in return especially compared to my Vaporflys. On that subject I bought a pair of Vaporfly 3's in September 23, I did a few training runs in them and felt they weren't as good as the 2's and weren't going to be very durable for the £235 I paid for them but I decided to put a few miles on them just everyday runs before sending them back. At some point I realised actually these are the best shoes I ever had for all my running, I just kept going in them, they have well over 1000km's on them and they still get an outing occasionally. I used them for all my training runs for Manchester marathon last April but wore a brand new pair for the marathon where I got a 6 minute PB and a GFA time for London. I'm mostly running in Vaporfly 2's right now due to buying a lot heavily discounted at some point but the 3's are so much better, I ran a HM at the weekend in the 3's and they felt so good. My personal opinion is do your running in the same type of shoes, I mean if you are going to wear plated shoes in a race train in plated shoes because they make you run differently, I'm very superstitious and think swapping between Invincibles and plated shoes caused me to get injured last year. It is expensive running in super shoes all the time but I look out for offers, Sportshoes 15% discounts or 10% club discount is a fair saving on them and in my case (touchwood) has helped me so much.

@eamon16484 ай бұрын
@@benjaminzaoui9683 I agree they're probably poo to run in. But I suspect there's a reason they don't have anything that is just zoonX with zoom air. I've now had FIVE pairs of turbo 2s, tried to replace with a combo of streakfly+invincible 2s, but I'm holding out hope these can bring back a single fast but strong all round shoe. The key to the turbos was the 2 layer combo of zoomx and react, because it made them a lot more robust than say the streakfly with just zoomx and low profile, so I'd get 1000km out of each pair and they still felt pretty good. Everything from speed work on the track to Sunday HM plods. I'll keep searching ebay I think

Problem is, is it worth the extra money versus the Adidas Adizero SL2? It may be me, but I compare the SL2 to the original Pegasus Turbo. I guess I need to get my hands on the Pegasus Plus to try it out, but as you’re speaking about the running experience and its use scenario, I can’t help but think of the Brooks Hyperion Max v1 as well. Premium race day foam, no plate, lightweight, quick and easy turnover, and you can pick up the Brooks for dirt cheap right now. I’m sure it’s a brilliant shoe, but the price is what kills it for me.
