The Koh solution needs to be left on for a few minutes to lift the organic stains. Not sprayed on and wiped off. The product has had no time to work.

Part of the reason why this didn't work for you, is because it looks like you didnt' allow the product to 'emulsify' which means to let the product sit on the surface for at least 5 minutes before cleaning it.

@@LastRenegade00 The box states that normal 'light' cleans need a spray and then immediate wipe. Anything that was a tougher stain (my oven, sink, and oven tray) had the product soaked on as they are classed as the 'heavier' mess. The box also states to not leave to settle on fabric (i.e the sofa) so couldn't do that there. I followed all instructions given and expected the results that it promised. Anything extra chosen to do at home is up to you, but I'm sticking to the instructions!

I like your video. But you aren’t right saying it’s from water and salt. It’s main active ingredient is- lye (potassium hydroxide) that is also used in soap making. That’s what says on the box. I just done my oven today. And it worked! It is old oven and was very very disgusting (bought with a house) was about to change it as nothing cut through the backed grime. No product or steal wools.. but this did! I didn’t buy it yet myself; I just got a little from other lady. And obviously no koh cloths or this sponge, yet worked with what I had. So must be something in it that does work. Also moped my glossy laminated floor (that is never glossy with kids and being in kitchen with two doors to outside) I sprayed on floor and cleaned up with my leifheit mop- and to my surprise the floor IS shiney once again! Without hot water.. dragging the bucket.. and buffering straight after mopping. So ai think to order my own kit 🤔

I love KOH and get great reviews on the holiday houses I clean for my business. The trick is ...Leave it for a few minutes before wiping off. Watch the videos that Koh put up and learn to use the products correctly. Its not fair to do reviews when your not using the products as they should be used. The heavy dirt such as oven trays and racks do need soaking. I will continue to use Koh and Im not paid to say any of this. I order online just like everybody else. :-)

I am very unbiased when it comes to cleaning products. I’ll tell you the good, the bad and the downright shit. I think it’s great to be eco friendly (when it works). I don’t even mind putting in a little bit more elbow grease if it means it better for the environment. But I won’t compromise on efficacy. All Koh is good for, is a surface cleaner. Like when you tidy up the clutter but don’t clean the room? That’s Koh. Yes it CAN help as a degreaser. But rarely for baked on, Difficult to move food particles etc. chuck some lavender or eucalyptus oil in there for the smell and spray your cupboard doors, Surfaces etc. get grubby finger marks off surfaces, by all means. Some say it works on stains, I haven’t found it does, Sard does wonders though. But as an actual proper cleaner that can replace everything? Bullshit. It says it’s independently tested to remove 99% of bacteria including staph, E. coli. Well my friend is studying microbiology. As part of her exam, hers was to test a product. She chose Koh. It did not inhibit the growth of those bacterium. Her professor oversaw her experiment every step of the way. Now don’t get me wrong, I recognise she’s a student. And this study hasn’t been replicated. But it gave me food for thought, that’s all. I can’t prove or disprove her findings. What I can do is see, with my own eyes, the results of this product. I have tried cif/jif, gumption, domestos/other bleach gels, bar keepers friend, Ajax, vinegar, bicarb, a vinegar and dish soap mix in the dish wands (especially great for showers with a dash of rinse aid). I’ve also tried enjo (yes heaps of people hate MLMs and their predatory practices) and their more affordable, just as effective but non MLM counterpart called e cloth. I found that all of these worked better than Koh. While Koh says it kills 99% of bacteria, I wouldn’t feel comfortable cleaning a kitchen or bathroom with it or anywhere heavily soiled with germs. I’d prefer vinegar and bicarb. E cloth and water. Vinegar and dish soap. Eucalyptus, hot water and dish soap. Eucalyptus on its own. Gumption. Jif. Ajax. Domestos. What I do think that you can use your Koh for if you’ve already purchased it, is surface cleaning. So your finger marks on doors. Spot Cleaning marks on kitchen tiles or Floorboards. Wall marks. Marks on cupboards. Skirting boards. Grubby fingerprints on the dining table. But when actually cleaning something to the point you want it relatively bacteria free (relatively as in: no home needs to be sterile unless there’s someone severely immunocompromised)... then Koh is not appropriate. Plain and simple. Also, their diamond sponge seems to be what works to clean filthy ovens. It works well For some but can leave scratches. It scratches glass and stainless Steel and chrome fixtures. The cloths are pretty sturdy and have the scrubby part. And I use them sometimes. But they’re not worth it IMO as you can buy e cloth that are dirt cheap and actually are proven to remove 99% of bacteria and only Transfer 1% if cleaning from dirty surface To another surface. I also have the mop. The bottle attached to the spray mop is so difficult to remove. It almost feels as though you’re going to break It. It got to the point where I’m now wary of removing it to refill in case I break it. The bottle, the atomiser? It Clogs. All the time. It’s a well known issue the company has and they do teach you how to trouble shoot it. But I don’t have time for that shit. I want cleaning products that make things easier for me. Not harder. I don’t want To have to learn how to use a new product and then contact the company to learn how to fix the product I just learned how to use. It’s ridiculous. This isn’t a random occurrence with their atomisers. It’s a repeated occurrence and out of four atomisers gifted to me, two did this. Not happy. So to conclude, I don’t believe in waste. I think I’ll use what I’ve got. But I’ll Do it for maintenance cleans. Like mop With proper products that’ll clean well once a week, and then use Koh on the spray mop in between. Clean my kitchen bench with proper Products of a nighttime or for filthy spills, but use Koh for touch ups. It also leaves streaks. So get yourself a dry microfibre after you clean your stainless steel, to wipe over with. That will get rid of the marks. You can also go in with a pinch of baby oil on a cheap microfibre and buff it into your stainless steel to shine it up. Although, and I promise I’m not shilling for e cloth, if you use that with just plain water and use their polishing cloth, it leaves it streak free and you can touch it without leaving fingerprints. Same concept as enjo and Norwex except you aren’t pressured into sales. You can buy Instore. It’s not an MLM, And it’s astronomically cheaper. Oh FYI, I just realised I’m on my partners phone. He certainly didn’t write this rant

I think the thing to remember is that this product has been created to be eco friendly and easy to use, which means not having the harsh chemicals like bleach and also the fragrances as well, including the mass of different products to use. Yes these things generally do clean better because they do most of the work, there's nothing better than using some bleach and dirt etc just disappearing. They do state that the first time you use it you'll have to work a bit harder before using it regularly and maintaining cleanliness instead of doing a deep clean. I'm keen to try this and I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to ditch bleach completely either especially in the bathroom but I guess it just calls for more regular cleaning. Essential oils is actually a really good idea because you decide what scents you use and you can probably get them well priced on amazon etc, tea tree oil would be a good one to use for it's antibacterial properties and fresh smell. We all want a nice clean house with minimal effort and we enjoy the smells that are bad for us etc but in the grand scheme of things people really need to start focusing on the eco friendly incentives - that's what's most important. Also, how you clean is ultimately the most effective tool.

I’ve just used it for first time and just like Hollie I think it’s good for only certain things not all like Koh claim. Not even going to try the toilet with it. Will just use for light cleans. My oven and hob came up nice but we had it professional cleaned for £40 and all black burns in oven and grill pan all gone. Completely new. So would rather do that once a year and just keep on top of it in between. I like honest reviews like this because although you won’t buy again you still point out positives. I bought the Koh pack with everything in it including the mop. The spray cleaned my oven door and top of the stove great but not so great in the oven. I also found that when I went to use the oven, I could really smell the product so opted not to cook in it as I was worried that the smell would go through my cooking. It took me weeks to get rid of the smell and that was with me trying to scrub every day with soapy water and then boiling hot water. Definitely won’t be using it again for inside the oven sorry. On the upside the spray mop with the product worked really well on my floorboards and gave them a nice polished shine but apart from that I much prefer my normal cleaning products that leave my house smelling nice and I get a better result from so unfortunately for the $188 I forked out for it. I think it is just over rated so won’t be purchasing from them again.

To your viewers: Koh is *not* eco friendly at all. Koh is 99.75% water. You are paying £15 for 4kg of water to be shipped around the country by road, causing pollution, congestion, etc. The active ingredient, KOH - potassium hydroxide, also know as caustic potash (sounds nasty but is safe if you are careful, wear gloves etc.) can be purchased as a dry powder/flake ingredient on eBay for £2.99 for 400g. But that 400g mixed with tap water (which is fine) would make up 40 (forty) 4l containers of Koh. 40 x£15 = £600 or £2.99 for the powder/flake ingredient. Your choice, but don't kid yourself that koh is good for the environment.

As a professional Eco-friendly cleaner, I have to say, the Method products are by far the best I've ever used, I'm not supprised Koh doesn't do it as each area of the house has it's own unique type of dirtiness. I do have to say though, about using bleach in the toilet bowl... Avoid it as much as you can. Bleach reacts with acids like urine and gives off a gas that is very damaging to the lungs. The best thing to use is an eco-friendly cleaner with limescale removing properties. I cannot stress this enough. Also, I would not use the same cloth under the toilet seat as the rest of the bathroom, as that is the area with the most bacteria on it. I simply use toilet paper or a separate cloth. I like to use a mix of vinegar, water and essential oils for that area, it has antibacterial properties and neutralises urine. Use cotton for wodden or leather surfaces as much as possible. Microfiber is very tough on surfaces and strips them of protective layers in time. For a streak free, amazing clean, I use a Marigold cloth, the purple one with a rubber layer. Pure magic, especially when combined with Method. Lots of if love!

Also, I just remembered, about the dirty greasy pan, apply some moist bicarb on there, leave over night, then next morning spray with vinegar and leave for an hour or so the grease should come off very easily. For the drain, bicarb and vinegar, followed by a hotwater kettle, maybe a couple of essential oils or a splash of lemon juice, does a fantastic, safe job at keeping the drains clean and smelling fresh. Xxx

When someone told me about the sponges just being generic diamond sponges, I bought some of those. I generally clean with water, but recently got this lil gadget that makes electrolyzed water basically, smells a bit like pool chlorine but it's only made from water, salt and a touch of vinegar. I'm like 90% eco friendly. Because nothing short of an atom bomb works on the inside of my oven 🙈 I'm all oven pride every month or so for that. It's supposed to be self cleaning but that's so not true. Though a diamond sponge works for the door no matter how nasty it gets 😊 ace review BTW. Saved me trying it!

Have you tried using any of the cloth systems? Such as ecloths or dare I say it. Norwex? I mostly have ecloths, but the shine cloths with both systems are ace and your cleaning with water for the most part. Use castille soap in water for the floor as I have dogs, kids, and my wheelchair wheeling over it so need 'something'. I'm still early on in changing over, but I miss the baby powder scent of the disinfectant less and less. Commented as I was watching, seeing at the end you said its just water and salt. Doesn't it have any smell? The electrolyzed water I make at home does. But the lil thing you use to make it is only £12 on amazon. Can make as much as you need which really appealed to us.

You do need to let the product sit on stubborn areas...it cleaned my grill and ovdn racks perfectly and my oven racks were pretty dire...my cooker is 12 years old and it made the whole thing gleam inside and out. Plus its antibacterial..I love koh, particularly on taps, windows and mirrors.

I liked it for shining fairly clean surfaces for sure, but just found that no matter how long I left it I couldn't get it to remove everything my other cleaners do. Just don't think it's for me :(

I believe it's similar to using carbonated water to clean

One thing you did incorrectly was measuring the atomizer sprayer tube. When you took the top off, you should have put it next to the neck, where it locks. Not the top of the bottle. Other than that great video. I've just received my KOH so interested to see if I've wasted money.

Thank you for a honest review of the product and with actually seeing you use it, I know it won't be any good for me. I do have a recommendation for you though for cleaning your toilet, have you tried Bloo Foam Aroma? I find it cleans the toilet brilliantly and smells nice to and it comes in different fragrances. Happy Cleaning

No problem at all! Yes I use bloo! I tend to stick some in the loo before bed to wake up to a nice scent!

If you actually followed the directions how to use it, you would find it works really well. You need to leave it for a while, to clean your oven it needs to sit and melt the dirt. You gave it no time.

I did do this and found the same results :)

I have bought this product and while it cleans glass it wouldn't clean my oven and that is what I bought it for. Thank you for your video I won't be purchasing it again. Glad it was only half price. Sorry KOH another customer bites the dust.

Hi Hollie, how are you getting on with Koh? I feel the same way as you.... a little disappointed as Multiple family members have been raving about it. I feel like I might not be getting the best out of it. So wondered if you have found the answer? Thanks x

They have scent you can add if you want scent. As for heavy stains; spray and leave it for a little (says 30 secs but I leave it for 60-90secs)

That would be a good addition!

Thanks for the full review the good AND the bad. As a lot don't mention anything bad or show proper use.. Especially when I've found out the Ingrediants is water and salt (before I saw your video) hence why I was skeptical. Either way.. I'll stick to alternatives.. Not tried method cleaning products yet so might try that. I've used ecover and ecolead but not are too watery, eg the toilet cleaner and washing machine liquid and washing up liquid is too runny. Might try method to see if that's any better

I highly recommend method. Let me know what you think of it!

@@Hollieandlife will do. Saw some on offer 3 for 2 in tesco but they only had 1 in stock as it was a metro store in city centre while I was passing by. So I'll look in my local store Tuesday as its an extra store anyway and I've seen a whole 5 shelves of method products last time I went (just not tried them yet.. But trying to cut chemicals out due to skin conditions and asthma)

@@jamesp3650 did some reasech and only thing I find about sc Johnson and animal testing is testing fly spray and mosquito spray against flies and mosquitos and bacteria against hand sanitisers. They claim on their website that cleaning products are NOT tested on animals, but they don't label it cruelty free because in the past they "may have had testing when new". I would assume (and hope) that method and ecover are just owned by sc Johnson (like Google is owned by alphabet and Jack's supermarket is owned by tesco etc etc) but still operate as their own separate companies especially as the ecover washing up liquid is not only safe for drains and water systems but won a cruelty free international award stamp (as well as 100% recycled plastic).

Good to see an honest review. Koh is good on regular cleaning, but I found it not so good on heavy cleaning and was rubbish with our oven.
