Hey Mark, have you tried it to check in a hotel as a replacement for credit card? Im not talking about paying the bill but during checkin the hotel withholds an amount.. Does the Koho card work in that case as a replacement for a credit card?

Yes you can add money via direct deposit or debit card. There are usually transfer limits from both your bank and on KOHOs side. Check with both

no, these prepaid credit cards only work on the The credit exchange, if you need to use a service or store that only excepts debit cards- you're pretty much screwed if don't have an actual debit card

This is looking pretty good to me actually, but is there any transaction limitations? I.e like 25 transactions per month, or is it unlimited? Or a weekly spending limit of say $500? These are important factors and information to know before considering opening up an account.

What's your opinion and/or experience with the feature to increase your credit score paying 7 cad per month, do you recommend it or is better with a regular credit card. And could you advice me with platforms or apps to save money? Either save or invest. I want to reach my goal in 1 or 1.5 years.

When I started credit building with koho my score was zero. 30 days later it's 630. From what I read now that I qualify for some credit cards, along with KOHO $7 a month we should be able to push our score further tho I'm just chilling using their service right now since I'm getting at least 0.5% cashback plus 1.2% interest holding money in their account.

Hey Trevor welcome to Money with Mark 😊 currently you can not deposit cash into a KOHO account. So that's a definite downside. Personally I have a basic cheap account with TD that I use for my mortgage payments and cash. And use everything else with Koho. If you handle a lot of cash then Koho might not be right for you... But since it's free you can always test Koho out and stop using it, or increase your usage if you like it

I’m considering this card for sure. I’m currently off work with head injury and am on quite a low income. That’s caused me problems with paying off my regular credit card, and as a result, my credit has sunk quite a bit. I want to build it up, but with the security of knowing I can’t accidentally rack up charges. I read that Koho has a credit building feature, so I could use it to help rebuild my credit

Yes it does! KOHO is a great way to stop the debt accumulation cycle. It’s important to note though that the credit building can only go so far if you have unpaid / outstanding bills / credit cards. Those need to be paid regularly in full first 👊 you got this!

It is the same as accepting an e-transfer from another bank account. If there's a password you'll have to put that in. Or you can setup automatic deposits so the email transfer will just go straight into your account :)
