Brilliant video amazed that new airpump boiled the pod. And the crud when you purged from the bottom drain bet it stunk awful If you're any spare lily I'll give them a good home. Thanks for making video 🐟 carol 🐟

Hi Carol, I was surprised the air pump boiled the pod too, and yes the purged drain contents weren't pleasant. I wont be spitting the lillies this year, you'll have to remind me next season, dont forget the competition if your entering. 👍

I've never jetted my drain's but I do have a low level purge which I flush every 2 days or so, amazing how much sits in there sometimes. I recently rearranged some of my returns and was actually surprised by the amount of brown slime jelly stuff there was in the return pipes so gave them a jet, another great vid mate

Hi mate, I regularly purge the drains, but I was shocked at what came out after pressure flushing, something I will do much more often. Thanks for your comments. Stay safe. Regards Andy

Well impressed with that pump you’ve convinced me find the EA ones to noisy and heavy wattage , can I ask what lapel mike set up you use ? Great video mate 👍👍

Gobsmacked that boiled your easypod and so quickly! I’ve a 35pa version of yours so wonder if that would work too. I may give it a go as they are do much quieter.
@DerbyKoi4 жыл бұрын
I was almost certain it wouldn't boil, but was delighted when it did, not only will it save a few pennies in electric, it means I have a spare too 😊 it would be interesting to see if your 35 would work

Hi, another great video ! can I ask, do you keep the air on all the time even though the water is getting colder. I’ve got mine on for a few hours in day but am worried it would cool water if left on over night?
@DerbyKoi4 жыл бұрын
Hi becks, I do keep the air on, I reduce the amount and because I have covers I think it helps with gas exchange. The next upload may explain more. If i had no covers I would probably turn the air off. Hope that helps

Quick question Andy, do you keep air onto your pond over winter?
@DerbyKoi4 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, just filmed this today, because I have covers I still run the air into the pond but reduced rate, I think it will help with gas exchange, if I had no cover I personally would turn it off to reduce wind chill and alter pond temp. Hope that helps
@martynward35364 жыл бұрын
@@DerbyKoi cheers Andy. I have covers on but didn't know if to leave air on to bottom drain. Was thinking off at nite on in the day.

Hi mate, not sure if there's a right or wrong I've researched it on the groups and forums and trying to get an answer is impossible, old school is leave everything on, new ideas are pump on, air and uv off, everyone's pond is different, I'm repeating what I did last year which is slightly reduced pump and air, and lower uv (with covers). Others will do different. On the channel I try not to instruct only show what I do. It's a fine balance mate, your idea of on off at different times may well be better than my option, I know people who do that. Stay safe mate sorry I cant give an exact answer. Regards Andy
