Although it’s a pretty forgettable character, I am sort of still very fond of the Lock, because it was so unique at the time. It’s one of the first Stands we see in JoJo’s that doesn’t really have any combat uses and has to rely on more unconventional tactics to be a threat. It’s a precursor to all the super creative shit that’s to come.

I love this episode because it shows off Koichi's character. When we're first introduced to him, he seems cowardly and weak but in this episode we learn the opposite. We see how Koichi's bravery and strength shine when his loved ones are being threatened. His stand is used in so many cool different ways as the series continues!

One of the things I like with Jojo’s is that Araki sometimes revisits themes and Stand abilities in later parts and tweaks them. It’s fun to see some of the contrasts between The Lock and a couple of similar Stands that show up later in the manga. Also, just having Stand Users who just do stupid crud instead of constantly battling. Some people get Stands and just keep doing their thing, living their life.

In the manga this con man was taller before and after being defeated by Koichi he becomes short, Araki made the kind characters shorter in design, there's one more character who is first tall but short later, tho in the anime they are shown short from the start

When I first read Part 4 I really liked Tamami. I don't know exactly why. I mean, I didn't like him on a human level, he's a piece of shit, but I think it's a combination of the fight being pretty goddamn memorable without really a single (damaging) punch being thrown and his design, which I think is really fun. I love these chinpira yakuza sorta designs. Same reason why I like Okuyasu so much.

I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE FUN FACT FOR THIS EPISODE. Don't miss this one! I have been waiting for this SPECIFIC episode for a long long time. This is the start of a beautiful character arc in JoJo Meet Koichi, you've been introduced before, clearly. But you'll be getting to know him pretty well as get a bit further into Part 4. I'm aware that you are ahead of this episode (on patreon) much further ahead. But I will make sure this character break down is relegated into chunks. I want to get straight into this detail immediately. Okay. So Koichi's stand is named Echoes. Based on the song Echoes by Pink Floyd This song has multiple ACTS. (Prez and Kelvin have reached "act 2" on patreon already so this is no spoiler.) I will be posting the lyrics to act one of this song. Echoes is a 23 MINUTE long song. For this, Prez. You're going to need to listen to the song as you read the lyrics. The intro for this song is very long. but I'll give you a timestamp to start (if you want to skip most of the intro) Once you've pulled up the song Echoes on youtube. Skip to the time -- 2:40 into the video. As you listen from that point, here are the lyrics from ACT 1 of the song Echoes. ------ "Overhead the albatross Hangs motionless upon the air And deep beneath the rolling waves In labyrinths of coral caves The echo of a distant time Comes willowing across the sand And everything is green and submarine.... And no one showed us to the land And no one knows the where's or why's But something stirs and something tries And starts to climb toward the light" ------- This is beginning of Koichi's story. We see a small change in his character. He's still the loveable guy we met. But its clear that he is destined for something greater. Idk if Dragon ball was inspired from Jojos or Hunter x Hunter first or Cell inspired those two series first first it's design of the green look monster.
