I find letting the prisoners go is actually a bad idea, firstly they will pay more tribute once peace is declared if you have a lot of their nobles imprisoned, secondly when you let them go they raise another little army in 5 minutes and start raiding your villages. Always take them as prisoners in my opinion, unless you’re trying to improve relations with the enemy nobles to try and convert them to your faction its not a good idea.
