Easy, healthy recipe. Thanks very much. Is there a traditional Goan side dish for this?
@FlorencyDias2 жыл бұрын
Hello Shanmugam and thank you! There isn't really a specific dish to eat the Koiloreos with- it can go well with anything! I recommend some spicy curries like a vindaloo or even a lovely, hot fish curry. If you want for a snack, you can try it with jam/butter/chocolate spread too😁

Is there any substitute for Goa boiled rice? And can it be reheated the next day? Thank you for your recipe.
@FlorencyDias2 жыл бұрын
Hello and good morning Lali! You can try this with Red rice. It will the same process. The batter can be refrigerated for a day or two, but fresh is always best. If you've already fried the Koiloreos, they can be heated again, yes :) Thank you for your interest in the recipe 💫 Have a great day 😘

My grandmother would make this then would add thick coconut milk mixed with jaggery and then pour over the koiloleous

These look so much like what my late Mother used to make for us during the Monsoons. Perhaps she cooked them in a pan that had a slightly rounded base; they were thicker. We used to relish them with Miscut during the Monsoons. I don’t believe she used coconut though… I wonder what they were called. Any idea? I’d love to know, and if you could do a video on the recipe, would greatly appreciate it. Devu borem korun 🙏🏽

Nice. Parboiled rice do u mean idli rice?
@FlorencyDias2 жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you, Gracy :) Traditionally Koiloreos are made from Goan parbolied rice since that variety was (and still is) a staple in the state. It isn't the same as idli rice. You can try this recipe with Red rice as a substitute for Parboiled Rice. Hope this helps 💫 Have a great day!

Mission Koiloeros : Hunt for that Goan rice ...! Shall make it the moment I get it. Looks quite easy to make. It's somewhere between uttapam and dose. Looks soft yet firm. Has a good crust at the bottom..and the top of it looks spongy..whitish and innocent enough to embrace any masala gravy...! I had a question Florency: is adding the leftover rice batter a mandate ? If yes then what's the ratio ? If not then, how will it affect the texture and firmness ?
@FlorencyDias2 жыл бұрын
@Lucky Films, Good morning✨ Are you into scriptwriting? You have so elaborately described the humble koiloreos making it seem like a king of a meal😎 Wah! Kya baat! If you don't find the Goan parboiled rice, you can try the recipe with Red rice. About your question: the leftover rice batter refers to the same soaked rice; I ground the rice in 2 batches (since my mixer-jar is not very large). So, it doesn't refer to any separately kept rice, but just the soaked rice that didn't fit in my mixer🙈 I'm so sorry that it led to a confusion. Thank you for asking about it, this way I could clarify😊

@@FlorencyDias A little effort of mine in writing a comment is just like a drop in the ocean full of efforts that you take in making these food videos. And you just don't make it, you craft them, detailed to perfection , every frame is well made, including the background music. The way I frame and articulate my comments is just a small gesture towards appreciating your talent. Moreover, it's for the greed and desire to see more mouth watering recipes from you :) Yes, I was into short film making until a few years ago, and so is this account. Thanks for clearing the doubts I had. Shall take a deep dive into the recipe shortly.

Hello Maria! I've used Goan parboiled rice for this recipe, if that's not available to you, you may use Red rice. I didn't use toddy for this. Koiloreos are quite hassle-free and easy, and don't need toddy. For best results, use the best-tasting coconut :) Thank you for your interest 😊

@FlorencyDias Жыл бұрын
Hello Anjana :) No worries, my dear. If you ever feel like trying this again, just remembered that they must be ground to a paste very well. And the consistency matters, so that will take a little practice. When I was younger, it did take me a while to learn to make a proper flat koiloreo💫
