I think more accurately he's the Bach or perhaps Mozart of video games. I would argue that John Williams ain't got nothing on Kondo. Williams rips off historical composers in a non-creative (in an academic sense not in a negatively critical sense) manner. His musical style is copy and paste. Kondo takes from a variety of styles and genre's turning them into a new music. Bach was known for taking the musical styles of other cultures. Video games such as Mario are in near every household while many still have not even watched Star Wars. Therefore, Kondo is a much more influential composer in music history than Williams.

That theme at around 1:00 ruined by shitty arrangement in-game by co-worker. It's a masterpiece when Koji Kondo play's' it. How did the people at Nintendo mess it up!
@mario5467110 жыл бұрын
Depends on which version you're talking about. The original DS arrangement is actually Kondo's own arrangement from the original New Super Mario Bros. game. Listen to it uploaded by GilvaSunner. It's the uncompressed version of the tune. The Wii and 3DS versions were arranged by Kenta Nagata, but the tune was actually composed by Koji Kondo and arranged by him in the original Nintendo DS game.
@soupmasterx200010 жыл бұрын
Nintendo have been using the real version aswell, there was not enough diskspace back in the days to have beautiful music like this
@MegaMech10 жыл бұрын
jobo slava I'm talking about the one song that Koji played at 1:00. Not any of the others or from any other games. Koji's 'arrangement' of his own song... Sounds great when he played it. But in the actual game (Super Mario Bros Wii) It sounds horrible. Due to the crap choice of instruments. The song completely lost it's feel. I'm not dissing any other Mario songs from any other Console. Just that song.
@mario5467110 жыл бұрын
MegaMech Yes, but that theme doesn't come from New Super Mario Bros. Wii, it comes from the original New Super Mario Bros. on the DS. Koji Kondo composed the theme himself and the arrangement you hear in the DS version is his.
@MegaMech10 жыл бұрын
***** He composed the song... But I think someone else arranged it. It's probably impossible to know who chose the instruments without asking the man himself
@mario5467112 жыл бұрын
It sounds lame in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but on the original DS version it sounds great. The theme was composed by Koji Kondo, and the DS is his original arrangement, on Wii, it was arranged by Kenta Nagata.
