You can get a soft synth like Serum, Sylenth1, Pigments and look for presets or learn how to create the sounds. Look for sound design tutorials. Also use a DAW like Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, etc. A real DAW.

You just connect it and it should work. The key is the DAW you're using. Bitwig is great and works on Linux. There are others you can use.
