Koki Niwa went absolute beast mode in the 5th set. Counter topspinning every ball... Damn! Would love to see him perform on this level again :) it's just been soooo long

Gauzy doesn't stop to amaze... big credit to him for such a great performance against one of the most unpredictable world class player!! It's very significant IMO that an EU player able to impose smoothly over a top Japanese star is not a harsh German player, but an amazingly smart and talented frenchman.

The masters of beautiful table tennis. I was really lockin forward to this. Gauzy get's stronger and stronger, beating the two top players of this great sport (not the most successful but in terms of what i consider beauty of the sport): Xu Xin and now Koki Niwa. Excellent game of Simon w/ a great mixture of creativity and effectivity.

I don't think Simon will be in the top 3. He can beat Xu Xin one day but he doesn't have the physical quality to match the Chinese. Top players are now so fast, so fit... To be a good rugby player you should weigh 100 kilos or run the 100 meters in less than 10 sec. Or you have to show an other tremendous quality like Waldner or Schlager. I don't mean that Chinese player are inelegant (Ma Lin, Xu Xin) but they are powerful at first. I like Koki style very much but he can't physically match against Ma Long or Fan.

Its safe to say Gauzy is french version of XuXin. Absolute entertainer off the table. And with koki niwa on the other side, its just crazy 😁. I envy the audience sitting there and enjoying the match, its worth every penny watching them fight 👍🔥👌

Koki Niwa has respect for his opponent and is happy for him that he has had an uprising in recent weeks. Moral support among players seems to be common in the professional scene of Table Tennis when you often see players like Fan Zhendong and Mima Ito have a few rallies, they may be opponents in matches but they are great friends outside the camera.

Gauzy is his usual self. Brutal and fast but with all those mistakes. Since Niwa was making enven more mistakes Simon got him, but he's still far from the steadyness of the top players. And yes I know he beated Xu Xin, but once ain't enough to make a great player. And Timo is still kicking him on every occasion.

KN doesn't seem to stand a chance against most of the top players. He has an odd style and may throw the opponent here and there but he just doesn't have the strength to finish a point.

Simonのボールの回転量に対応できんかったか。。。Simonのボールが重い分、Kokiは基本オーバーミス。カウンターに伸びがあれば相手の出足を封じて強力なボールを連続で打たれなかっただろうが。。全体的Kokiのボールの緩さを感じた。
