Yeah, I'll never understand it-- Yoshi's Island SNES had a fantastic soundtrack perfectly befitting the cartooniness of the game, even if it was only like, what, 4 stage songs, the map song, castle song and 3 boss songs? But every single song was perfect. Ever since then, every Yoshi game -- even the two purported 'direct sequels' to YI have this Yoshi's Story-esque garbage that ends up mostly being xylophones and weird percussion. It sounds more like the soundtrack to a Rugrats episode than a Yoshi game. And of course, the actual awesome colorful graphic style of the original YI seems lost now, as only YI2 used it again and that overall wasn't so great a game...

I think Bowser needs new final forms at least. We already have giant versions of standard enemies. Bowser going Mega has become a cliche. Dream Team for an instance had a very suiting form of Bowser as a final boss and it felt climatic and intimidating and he was a pretty tough battle. It at least gave me the idea that Bowser was thinking outside the box. Even Meowser. Sure the transformation was funny as heck but it was still something new for a final form rather then him getting big. I think a more suited form for Bowser in this game was since he apparently time traveled he would take on the form of a time lord and you would fight him in past locations as he warps time around him. I mean seriously. Both Mega Bowser and Dry Bowser are the most overused Bowser forms in Mario history. Give him more unique final forms already. He is a freaking evil tyrant. Make him like the threat he is supposed to be actually thinking and being competent like in Dream Team rather then him repeating past mistakes and making him look like a moron. Poor Bowser. Why does Nintendo do this to him? At least Ganon is still epic. Bowser though. I hardly can't take him seriously anymore. Again look at Dream Team. Bowser was actually clever using Antasma to get what he wanted then ditched him when he had no more use for him much like a certain villain from Super Paper Mario. I think Nintendo is stuck in this mindset that only the game play should be good and there should never be a story but we do not live in such an era anymore and I think that mindset is partially the reason why Mario hasn't been doing as good as it did back in the day. Heck that's what they did in Sticker Star and look at how that turned out. There is no personality for the characters, the plot is absent, the variety of unique landscapes is absent, the character variety is also absent. It's just New Super Mario Bros with stickers. It's not a true Paper Mario. We want a true Paper Mario 4. A game so epic that it tops 64, TTYD and SPM. To Nintendo and Intelligent Systems. Please for the love of everything that is good! Make a true Paper Mario game for the Wii-U. I would give them my arms and legs to play a real Paper Mario again.

The boss theme is so unforgetable. I haven't touched Yoshi's Island since release day for the GBA port, and even then I was big into the original when I could rent it from Blockbuster all those years ago. These bosses are boring, they're slow, and they're unimaginative. I'm not going to say Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island was creative genius in the boss department, but they were certainly more interesting than this, with music that at least stood out, with visuals that made the game POP, and some of the most memorable level design I can remember being in a Mario game. I mean, playing Super Mario Bros U, I don't distinctly remember any of the levels because they're all bland and very much the same, but I can remember levels where you're chased by Chain Chomps, where you get to use the Train power-up in the one or two optional areas it shows up in, and where many of the hidden bonus rooms are.

To those who have bad blood against this game, let's make a rain check. The origen Yoshi's island was arguably a masterpiece in gaming history. Now ask yourselves, "how can we make something virtually perfect even better?" For those of you who already guessed it, it's not all that easy if even possible to some degree. Nintendo has been trying to improve this title while keeping to the original formula, and what came next was nothing like we all had in mind. They made a decent attempt with the 3ds version, but to me, that's as close as they're going to get to the original. My point point here ladies and gentleman, you can't improve something already practically perfect. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but when it does, it's rare. In the case of Yoshi's island, I think Nintendo ought to close the book on this one.

Soopa Derpcat Lets break it down. The first time i played bowser battle, i thought you were supposed to go there. (the arrow betrays you!) and the helecopter sequence guarantees losing a life the first time you play. And bowsers castle takes 8 times to see all of the area. Each room is a different path. (I find 6 to be the most fun) The bosses are challenging the first time you play ( i find the elder koopa annoying as hell). And baby bowser has a terrifying time limit that you don't you have the first time you fight him. when his mouth gets off screen, you can just sit there and wait for death. (he destroys the platform) The battle is quite terrifying if you thing about it.

I can agree that levels aren't that difficult to finish; however, the fun is trying to reach all the goals in every level. Some of them are very challenging and it's very fun to go back and play it over again to reach the goals.

To clarify Mario went back in time to help the Yoshis because he knew Bowser would go in the past to try and rewrite history. Mario either followed Bowser back in time or Bowser followed Mario back in time. That's why both the adult Mario and Bowser were in this game. After Yoshi defeated grown up Bowser he turned into stardust and escaped back into the present timeline with present day Kamek. The adult Mario then returned to the present as well because his duties were complete.

I really wish they would stop making additions to this game, the original was a classic in itself I don't think it really needed as many new additions on top as it did. The story is kind of...unnecessary, albeit weak with the addition of the 'OMG wrong house' plot point. Plus time travel? Really? I think that was pretty much done with Superstar Saga: Partners in Time. But when you got something popular you milk it for all its worth I suppose *sigh*

Lucina Rodriguez Remake, spin off, sequel, whatever this is supposed to be. Was there even a reason for this to even exist outside of making more money? Was there a plot point needed to make this game? Were there people screaming out loud for people to be making this? If not it just makes it seem like they are doing the cliche thing of milking a popular game for more. I loved the original Yoshi's island and I think it provided a solid story that didn't need anything more added onto it. But here they are throwing in plot points like 'Got the wrong house' and 'Time Travel' to justify the idea of having both an adult Bowser and Mario in it. I know I am not the only one either, I have friends who aren't that happy with this and find it just another cash in on the Yoshi's Island name. All I am saying is I don't know what it is that justified the need for this game to be made.

My point still stands, was there any actual reason for this game to exist? Was there people crying out for a sequel to the original, enough to warrant the making of this game? I doubt it really unless there is evidence of the contrary and see this as just another cash grab to milk more on a story that really should have been over and done with after the original. Friends of mine I know agree with me that this game is really unnecessary, one regrets ever getting it after a friend was so generous to buy one of the special Yoshi's island 3DS bundles for his birthday. I'm just trying to see the justification of this game's existence.

Well, now I know what the final boss is. At least it's not too big a deal for this game but still; for future reference, I'd just avoid using a pic of the final boss for the thumbnail image.
