Kirby either fights backrooms monsters or other cute things, sometimes both but never neither there is no in-between

I feel like Nightmare is a pretty good in-between (unless if you think that he is either cute or backrooms), but he is definitely the exception that proves the rule. I don't know what is up with the Kirby franchise, but it's got some spooky villains (although considering that it shares a universe with Metroid via Dreamland 3, that could have something to do with it, seeing as how even the Nightmare in Metroid is as wonky as it is).

I think a pretty good example of "in-between" is Magman from Kirby 64. From the cuteness perspective, it is just a lava blob with cute eyes and a funny mouth, plus it looks kinda dumb. Don't be. It's one of the easiest bosses in the game. Once you reach the second phase of the fight, it literally stops attacking you. I've never actually played Twilight Princess, but I don't even think TOUCHING it will hurt you.
@boneman97512 жыл бұрын
I’ve always loved these moments, mainly because they feel like they aren’t supposed to be there. It’s Nintendo, they’re a clean and squeaky company, so when you see something like giygas, you don’t know how to feel. It’s like a real life creepypasta. And it’s those moments that stick with you the most. I’ve never even played earthbound and I can instantly recognize giygas. Bosses like dead hand, giratina’s cutscene, and literally everything from wario world. It’s these moments that stick with you for years after you’ve played the game, because you’ve felt like you’ve killed a true monster, something that doesn’t belong in this bright and happy world. In most horror games, you’re expecting the fear and the uncertainty, but you never expect zero to rip his eye out just to continue fighting you. You never expect to see Luigi hanging in the back ground of the mansion. That’s true fear to me, seeing monsters where they shouldn’t be. There shouldn’t be a demon in your closet or under your bed, your room is supposed to be your safe place, the place you’re most vulnerable because you’re asleep. Seeing monsters when you feel safe, that’s horror to me

Nightmare and Crocomire were so scary, Crocomire in Super Metroid is pushed to the Lava and then we see how horrible is the way that Crocomire dies, as for Nightmare, that thing is disgusting and pretty creepy, but nothing is scarier than 02 from Kirby, that beast seems like it was made by H.P. Lovecraft

First time playing Metroid Fusion I had no idea what was in store for me, and when Nightmare finally showed it self what set me off most was it’s boss music, but then the armor came off and I saw it’s goopy slimey green face. It’s wors when it’s at low health cause not only are my missiles useless now!, but dear God it’s face is practically hanging on by a thread!. But the worst part didn’t come from Fusion, it was Other M thinking it was a great idea to give it the sounds of a newborn baby!, I mean come on it was creepy enough already!.🤣😱

@@not_a_real_handle they're separate companies. They also seem to have different goals. Like, nintendo hates their fans, and make very crappy anniversary things, like skyward sword and mario all stars. HAL loves their fans, makes theories cannon, and produce amazing anniversary specials

For these bosses I wonder how everybody at Nintendo said: "Yeah that'll fit..." Most of them are so outstanding crazy, brutal, gory or frightening it's like they came from nowhere and possessed a cute child game. Take Mario Odyssey as an example. A cute game with fantastic funny and cuddly creatures.... AND INCOMES A 250m tall 4K Enderdragon!!!

Interesting that, except for Kingfin and Blizzeta, all of these are from earlier console generations. Also, can't speak for other people, but the Thunder Dragon in Mario Odyssey isn't terribly too scary and in my personal opinion Morpheel or Zant would've fit Twilight princess's representation here much better.
@blitz47792 жыл бұрын
Even then TP is pretty old nowadays Also I feel blizzeta works due to the corruption of the twilight mirror. I'll give you Zant (especially his death) but morpheal honestly isn't that scary since he barely attacks you

I've got some idea's for a game of my own and I want to have a reeeeeally creepy part toward the end: the game will have 6 secret bosses across the multiple areas, each giving you a "Nexus Core Fragment" and a hidden memory from the main villain from before he became evil. If you get all 6, you can proceed to the true "Daybringer" ending, where you fight a giant god demon. Before that part, you gotta go through this dingy, abandoned lab, where you meet a little alien called Detavoid that the former owners of the lab were experimenting on. He just stares at you before a little implant on his chest starts flashing and he transforms into a monster, with his legs turning into tentacles and tendrils growing out of its back. Once he turns, he stares at you a little longer before charging at you and the fight begins. Soooooo....what do ya think?
