I was there c. 1978 en route to Kusadasi. I remember staying a week, in whatever town the ferry came into from Piraeus. It was much like the waterfront in these pictures with the fishing boats. There was only one restaurant and the food could easily run out. I remember the serenity of olive and fig trees on small roads looking down at beautiful little beaches. It was early spring so the weather was cool. The KZbin videos showing Samos today are unrecognizable. Thank you for putting this up so I could remember a little more.

Great collection of photos of days gone by. Thanks! I start my Holidays in Kokkari 1991.The years in the 90er given to me the best felling.The time is gone losing.

I was there a week ago, and what a beautiful island it is. Kokkari is the nicest town for me. And the people??? I really love them.

The only thing that is the same like today are the cats😄the roots of my grandparents are from there and it looks very impressive to me. I wish i can go there this year, its a very beautiful place with the best tomatoes of the world :)
