This is an affordable Chinese made Uni-vibe pedal that goes by the name of Kokko Vibe Pedal on eBay and AliExpress. You can also find it at Thomann by searching for Nux Mini Core SE UniVibe. It's the same pedal with different branding.
It's a really easy way to try out a vibe pedal without spending a lot of money. It is by no means perfect, but it does the job. In my experience it colors you tone quite a lot and if there was one thing I would change it would be the LEVEL knob. A MIX knob would have worked better on this pedal.
If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know in the comments section below.
Thanks!

I'd skip most cheap Chinese pedals if I were you. This pedal and others would only be happy in an fx loop if you have one on your amp. They tend to be too hot to run into the front end of your amp. I got a rat-like distortion that seemed pretty good, and a reverb, and a delay, though I broke the delay turning the knobs... If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Buy good well known domestic pedals if you want a pedal.

Buy cheap from China if you don't mind the risk. It'll cost more than paid to send it back if the seller allows you to return it. If you feel like a gamble and are feeling lucky, go for it.

I have bought 20 of the Chinese pedals and have had not one break or fail, and they have replaced so many of my high dollar pedals simply because they sound better than the ones they clone. Also built like tanks and some have trim pots inside you can tweak.Two of my friends have done the same and absolutely love these pedals. Mosky, Donner, and Joyo, to name a few. The high end boutique pedals will be out of business within a few years unless they lower there prices to around $25.00 or so and improve there sound quality to because the ones we have bought are far superior. Just look around KZbin and see all the guitar players that have discovered these killer little pedals. Only boss, mxr and Roland will survive this competition but they too will have to shrink the footprint and price on there's too. The killer little Chinese pedals are the real deal and are here to stay. Finally Great pedals at an affordable price that any musician can afford. Some of my pedals I've had over 2 years and not one has failed.♫♪♫♪

“Stop it ! .... stop getting Bond wrong !” .... Most of these answers can be found in a search engine ! ..... Although a similar sounding name - A ‘Vibe’ pedal and a ‘Vibrato’ pedal are NOT the same ! A ‘Vibe’ pedal is an emulation of a ‘Univibe’ pedal ... used by - Hendrix- listen to his - ‘Machine Gun’ .or Robin Trower’s track - ‘Bridge of Sighs’ ... The Univibe inside - used an opto circuit - a pulsating light to control the speed of the effect... In ‘basic’ terms, it was a primitive stage/step Phaser pedal....with a separate foot treadle to adjust the speed... See Jimi’s stage ‘set up’ (floor) .... A ‘Vibrato’ pedal ‘bends’ the pitch of the note(s) being played and to ‘most’ is a bit limited / niche.... A tremolo pedal varies the volume of notes/ chords up/ down .. originally on guitar ams (combos) then later- pedals....

Vibrato is chorus without the clean signal. The vibe is a chorus pedal
@darwinsaye
@darwinsaye 2 ай бұрын
@@patrickmcmanus5373More properly… chorus (and flanging as well) is made by adding the dry signal to a vibrato signal of a vibrato effect. And even further, a vibrato effect is created by making a delay and turning the speed of the repeats up and down (you can make a vibrato sound by turning the rate control on a delay pedal up and down manually). Most modulation effects are otherwise also known as “time based effects”. So really, a chorus is a delay, 😁

The Kokko one seems to have too hot of an output to use on my amp's front end. I have to put that and the Aroma/Tom's Line chorus into my effects loop. I also got the Kokko Phaser... That one the "mix" knob should be labeled level/volume. I was able to get the phaser to work on my front end, but not the Vibe. They don't sound much different either. The Vibe draws like 300ma, though.

Sean Alexander I got the best result by keeping the level below 50%. Anything greater then that and it overdrives my amp too. You should keep it in the effects loop, all modulation and time based effects work better in the loop. Thanks for checking out the video!

The phaser will more likely work through the front of your amp without distorting badly. The Kokko vibe isn't anywhere near a Univibe and distorts your front end if you use it that way. It may play in an fx loop, but I didn't pay much for the piece of crap. Buy it and decide for yourself. Or skip it. I'd say skip it, and get a univibe reissue.

You have to understand that the univibe is essentially a very complex phaser. There was an expression pedal for it. Listen to Jimi Hendrex Little Wing.... You'll notice it swell in to this beautiful lovely chorus sound. It's difficult to get that without the real, original Univibe. Point is, it's not really a chorus sound, it's a phaser.

WELL, YOU ASKED FOR IT, HERE YOU GO😊 *-PHASE* *SHIFTERS* work by delaying the phase of one signal (straight instrument signal) as compared to the phase of another ( , and the combined effect creates a sweeping motion, typically created electronically by an inaudible LOW FREQUENCY OSCILLATOR carrying phased signal, or *PM*. A filter can also reveal resonant frequencies which occur during the sweep, much like a speaker causes the strings on your electric guitar to resonate with harmonic feedback. This is just an outline. *-Tremolos* work by MODULATING the AMPLITUDE, or *AM* of the incoming instrument signal. The RATE is the speed at which it modulates ( pulses between normal volume and no volume , and the DEPTH (or INTENSITY) is the ratio of the unmodulated clean (unaffected, straight) signal combined with the modulated signal. The *lower* *the* *DEPTH* , *equals* less of a pulsed Vvolume drop. Or *less* *AM.* *-VIBRATO* works just like tremolo except it uses FREQUENCY (pitch) MODULATION, or *FM*. With a few additional parts a phase shifter can create vibrato. In fact the VIBRATO in a Hammond organ is created using a mechanical rotating scanner which utilizes a phasing technique...do look up How does a Hammond Organ Vibrato Scanner work? - *FLANGERS* work just like phase shifters except they use FM instead of phase shifting. HISTORY OF FLANGING Long before flanging was created electronically it was done using two identical tracks of music played on two separate tape players running in perfect sync. The flanging effect was created by ever so slightly dragging the motor speed of one of the tape players. Or more simply, recording engineers would put their fingers on the tape reel dispensing the tape, and the slight drag would result in a gradual sweeping of the 'delayed' tape combined with the normal speed tape. It's worth looking this powerful effect up from iit''s infancy. SPRING REVERB was invented by clock maker- Laurens Hammond, inventor of the Hammond organ, the Synchronous Motor (used in every electric clock, automated sign, and throughout industry. He also invented 3D glasses, and over 100 other patented inventions. Look up HAMMOND OIL FILLED REVERB , the very first!

You are so wrong it's not even funny. Not only does the name on this pedal (vibe) and the name on the blue pedal (vibrato) obviously state their function, but their sound is completely different from what you say. The blue pedal sounds nothing like a univibe. Do some research and learn how univibe I'd mostly a phaser with some chorus/tremolo to get its unique sound, and nothing to do with pitch-changing-vibrato
@ot4kon
@ot4kon 3 жыл бұрын
@@saucybaka4439 you are so wrong. One is pitch changing and the other is volume changing, that is a fact. I said uni vibe because uni vibe is a type of vibrato. I know how they work I been building my clones for years and studying the schematics of pedal too . The kokko "vibrato" is digital that is why it cost more than the analogue kokkos and you will not find the light bulb inside. Put that thing of the video (kokko vibe) in an osiloscope and you will see only voltage changing up and down. Blame fender for using the term tremolo in their guitars. Blame kokko for naming one pedal "vibe" and the other "vibrato". Also, READ THE DAMN MANUAL, the kokko "vibe" manual says that the pedal mimic the sound of a rotary speaker and the kokko "vibrato" says that is a traditional vibrato. Or better use your goddamn ears.
