No forgetting the horror & suffering of our boys in the Owen Stanley's..no forgetting the dreadful behaviour & unforgivable ignorance of Macarthur, Blamey and the Brisbane HQ.. No forgetting the betrayed like Arnold Potts.. I feel for the poor Japanese boys conscripted and indoctrinated and their ordeal. My grand uncles were up there, I knew those who returned..I'm named after one, 19, killed at Buna. The native carriers were indeed angels of endurance and mercy. And we're still all about belting each other about, all over the planet, in 2023. Lest we bloody forget. ❤

To paul joe Cocomo 1 year ago We did it then we can do it again mate! Those first Australian Units that where sent to Papua New Guinea were Militia with minimal training, (the fully trained units where still in the Middle East, Bardia, Benghazi, Greece, Crete, Tobruk and Syria, then obviously El-Alemein, you don't know any of these names) some of the militia didn't even know how to strip their own weapons and clean them, no blankets, no spare socks, cotton uniform wearing shorts. It was stinking hot in the tropics up to 90% humidity during the day then freezing cold at night up on those mountains and it rains every day up north in the afternoon so without blankets and thin cotton uniforms with no blankets you froze, one guy said after a few days on the track that he counted 18 holes in his boots and his socks had rotted off,...plus the only heavy weapon they had was an obsolete First World War Vickers Machine Gun! Walk the Kokoda Track today without anyone shooting at you and see how long you last? People fall out today and have to go back to Port Morseby and there wearing all the latest light weight hiking gear. Good Luck! Plus we have more people now too, so about 24 Million or something ridiculous where we only had about 7 Million in 1939 and were a lot smarter now after that,... plus Korea, Malayan Confrontation, Vietnam, East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan. Do some research,...that's the reason where still here surrounded by a squillion people who are shit scared of us! And don't forget New Zealand there our Brothers even though we hate each other when playing Rugby Union, Rugby League, Cricket f-cken table tennis net ball snakes and ladders what ever,...but we are christian nations or something and when it comes to saving ourselves you wouldn't want a better soldier standing beside you ANZACS,...wow f-ck try and find anything better, good luck with that too lol!!! I don't care what you do but at least do some research,...even ask our enemies they love us too, ask a Turk we are best friends with them too lol!!! So who ever wants to try,... good luck to them too,..lol!

At the end, there's the Aussie vet in Queensland who said "There just isn't anything to be gained by war." He's kidding, right? The Aussie soldiers saved the nation with that hopeless, relentless, bloody retreat on the Kokoda Trail. It's a most heroic story. And it preserved the people, and the land. THAT is what was gained.

What would you do if your country was being invaded? You would either flee or fight. That's your choice. Or you can flee and fight at the same time which is what happened on the Kokoda trail. I love the people of AUS and NZ. Their stiff upper lip attitude is something that is rare. There were so many heroes and acts of courage that it's difficult to list them all in a short comment. I hope the people there never forget what those men did. This should be taught in every history class in the world.

Why does Australia need a rally point? And are we going to do a movie that includes the 53rd battalion sitting on the track refusing to fight, while the 39th and the 2/14th fought the Japanese a mile up the track? Do we include the sheer incompetence of the upper level commanders? Do we include the Australians continually being pushed back by the same Japanese tactics over and over again?

So Sade And to think China would like to start another war
@simonyip85713 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure that the Chinese are happy with their resurgence and ressurection and return to their original world status and position. They have no reason to sabotage their success by going on military adventures. They are building up their military and naval and aviation equipment and forces to make sure that they will be able to defend their national interests and to be able to prevent being too weak to stop hostile and aggressive nations from unwanted interference and involvement in Chinese affairs and having to experience the brutal Japanese aggression, invasion, occupation and atrocities. To seriously believe that successfull country's just declare war for petty reasons. They now have a lot more international power and importance and have too little to gain in unnecessary wars.
