Gauge refers to the weight of a solid ball of lead that might fit perfectly in the bore of a shotgun, expressed as the inverse of said ball’s weight as a fraction of a pound. For example, the sphere of lead that perfectly fills the bore of a 12 gauge shotgun weighs 1/12 of a pound. In turn, 12 of these lead balls add up to a pound in weight. The lead ball that fits perfectly in a 20 gauge bore weighs 1/20 of a pound. This measuring system holds true all the way down to the diminutive .410, which is actually a measurement of caliber (i.e., a direct numerical measurement of bore diameter, expressed as .41 inches). Gauge measurements stem from the days of cannon balls, when something such as an ‘eight-pound cannon,’ or ‘eight-pounder,’ fired a round ball weighing eight pounds.

He's 100% right. TLDR for laymens. Unlike rifle and pistol calibers, shotgun gauges get bigger, eith the smaller #'s. So a 12 gauge will be a much stouter shell than a 16 or a 20 gauge. And .410 is a real calibe gauge, and is super tiny. Dear god if u need to shoot something large like an 8 gauge, shoulders gonna look like a bruised peach😂

Guns definitely jam way more in PZ/Brita than they do in real life. I could clean my semi-auto rifle and shoot 1,000 rounds in an afternoon and not get a single jam

That's likely because you maintain your weapon regularly. Regular full cleaning and oiling can reduce the likelihood of jams by a massive amount. In video games, even those with so many layered systems for realism like PZ, guns never get full maintainence if any at all. Would love to see weapon maintainence as a system in PZ.

Regarding the question about jams, my entire time in the navy I only experienced one jam on qual days amd we were shooting M9. Everything else was a simulated jam, our GMs took pretty good care of the armory.

As far as gun jams: I was an ammo specialist in the US Army during the 1st Gulf War. Maintaining your firearms is something overlooked by too many folks. Granted, you use firearms in this game about as much as a frontline infantry soldier in combat so you ought to clean and oil your rifle every couple/few days. I don't know if the game factors in carbon build-up, everyday accumulations of dust & dirt, etc., but it won't do your rifle, or your aiming, any favors if you neglect it.. We used a LOT of automotive carburetor cleaner on our M-16's and the .45 pistols the officers carried. Haven't I seen a gun cleaning kit as an accessory in the Britta Weapon Mod? Little tip for 56:10 if your car is weak getting into second gear while towing kills all speed so keep it in first which will let you tow at around 15mph, this is on asphalt go off the road and you're just screwed.

Havent seen the entire video yet but gauge is how much of 1lbs in a ball, so 12 gauge is larger than 13, so its 1 lbs/12 for each pellet (cannonball). 357 is for revolvers. Good enjoying the video :)

Hey man you had a question about firearms at around the 2hour and 20min mark. Most modern firearms are incredibly reliable under the right circumstances. This primarily comes down to maintenance, ammo quality and the shooter. Some people clean their guns after a trip to a firing range while others set a round count before cleaning. A shooter can also induce malfunctions or jams due to lack of familiarity with the firearm. Lastly, the quality of the ammunition will have a big effect on reliability. For example there are instances where Glocks shoot thousands of rounds before encountering a malfunction. As long as they are cleaned and well maintaned most guns (unless its a 1911 or made in a garage) won't enounter much failures. Edit: Just to add onto this, suppressors can also have effects on reliability. For a semi auto like a Glock, you might have to change out the guide rod springs to have it run well, it again depends on the ammo you're using. For an AR/M16, you might need to adjust the gas port or change springs/buffer.

Considering killing 300 zombies at day, I think there is not that the guns jam too much, its that is a low rate of jams but much higher shots than usual, and once is happening in a much short real time span, gives the impression that jams so much more than real.

7.62 is what most military's use like the US and it's M4s and M16A2

7.62x51 NATO is used mostly in sniper rifles/DMRs, the AR-15 Platform is mostly in 5.56x45. 7.62x54R (Rimmed) Is used in mosins, and MGs like the PK series MGs, 7.62x39 used to be the standard calibre for the Warsaw pact countries (AKA for AK-47s and SKS rifles) untill they switched to 5.45x39, for rifles from the AK-74 series, There is also 7.62 Tokarev which is mainly used in Soviet WW2 era SMGs and the Tokarev pistols. Sorry for the rant. TL;DR: M-16 and M-4 rifles do not use 7.62, unless they are converted to said cartriges.
