Ingredients:
1/2 cup dried kokum
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup sugar (or to taste)
2 tablespoons chia seeds
4 cups cold water
Ice cubes
Instructions:
Soak the kokum in 1/2 cup of water for 1-2 hours, or until softened.
In a blender, combine the soaked kokum and its soaking water. Blend until smooth.
Strain the kokum mixture to remove any solids.
In a pitcher, combine the strained kokum mixture, sugar, chia seeds, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well.
Taste and adjust the sweetness to your preference.
Serve the kokum sharbat with ice cubes.
Tips:
You can use store-bought kokum syrup
sweetness of the syrup.
For a more flavorful drink, you can add a pinch of salt or a squeeze of lemon juice.
You can also garnish the drink with fresh with mint leaves or fresh fruits.
