The "Blanket" effect of the AC setting is on all the Tweakers, but it's where you put it when you use pedals. The blanket effect disappears and you get a really solid and clear signal, and you'll find the American and British are more spitty or phase'y.

a closed back cab helps the low end tremendously i ran it through a carvin 2x12 and they were bright speakers too... but god it was so versatile with the power attenuator. it allowed me to push the power section hard and get unparalleled tone

Fantastic demo and approach. I've read there are reliability and quality issues with Egnater transformers. Are there any aftermarket options worth pursuing for these amps, or are the designs/implementation proprietary? Thanks.

Possibly Mercury Magnetics? I know they make upgrade transformers for Egnater. Not sure if the Tweaker 88 is one they make... I'll only worry about that, if I need to. Love this amp.

That Orange Cab makes a HUGE difference. You didn't demo the amp with the channel gains down and the Master vol's up ..... that would have highlighted the amp's capabilities for pushing the power section. The tones you sampled that you didn't like sound good too .... think studio tones, not just stage. There's no such thing as a "bad" sound ..... sounds should fit the music. I agree with the shared EQ thing ....multi-channel amps should always use independent tone stacks. Egnater builds most all their amps in China, so they're obviously big into low cost. Most all the High Gain channel settings, thru KZbin, sound the same .... but the Clean channel sounds really nice. (I'm not in to all that high gain "squealing" ..... borrrrrring ..... but that's just me.) This amp is pretty nice, and affords the player alot of variations. The clean-to-drive capability really seems to shine here. VERY good demo ..... it's hard to find someone who really puts in the time and thought to totally sample an amp, rather than JUST throwing out a bunch of licks to impress viewers. Thanks much.

What happens if you got a whole board of pedals, does that switch just disable the effects loop? Does the amp clean up well if rolling back the volume on the guitar? Exactly HOW loud is it?

If your pedal board is in the effects loop, then yes, the switch enable's or disables your pedal board. It cleans up a bit with a volume knob, but not super clean. It's 88 watts. It's pretty loud. I've never checked it with a decibel meter or anything so Exactly how loud??? :)
