This is an amazing video clip of the city I left 49 years ago. Still recognize some of the landmarks, GPO (General Post Office), Victoria Memorial, Howrah Bridge built by Burns (cannot remember the full name of the company). Government House, Loretto High School. Best of all the roadside sweets, Pani Puri, Paan with Betel nuts, Russogulla. Some of these sweets are available in Toronto/Brampton, Made in India and imported into Canada. But their high sweet content is not conducive to good healthy snacks.Cannot forget the manually driven rickshaws but there were no motorized ones in my time (1936-67). Pity the rickshaw puller who worked in the rainy Monsoons and scorching summer heat. I remember their rubber-tire slippers stuck in the melted asphalt so he had to run barefooted. Sad.

- - so much has changed and yet so much is the same. You have captured the best and charming elements of this old, vibrant and hospitable city, home to millions. We often overlook the charm and culture beyond the crazy traffic, congestion and dirt, when we visit after many years. Thank you for this perspective. You are talented indeed. Well done.

Wow, this was amazing! You did this on your cell phone??!! Moved me deeply to see my old school La Marts for Girls, and see all the Bongs. The 'aunty' singing at the end was a superb and hilarious finish, go girl! What a joy to see my old Calcutta again, oh sorry, Kolkata! I miss the rossogollas, and cha in 'bharhns', and the puchkas in sal leaves. This was a very slick, and joyful production, and you are on your way to becoming a filmie filmie director dear girl, good luck!

Great city,great values ...education,arts and ppl not at all money minded ....all okay but most bhadralok want preservation of their memory making time stand still but at the cost of development of Rural Bengal. Last 40 years...the State lags behind many states like ,no industries, low income growth. Commies and now TMC ...preying on local pride and keeping them down
