My kids and I enjoyed the Timber Creek overlook and Taylor Creek trail to the double arch alcove. It was SO nice to have virtually no crowds after barely making it into the "main" part of Zion the previous day. We did a 3-week tour of mostly national parks in July 2021 -- a year after their mom and I got divorced. It was definitely rejuvenating and healing for us all!

Went here several times when I lived in Vegas in '98. Just 2 hours north on 15. Was just back a few weeks ago, still my favorite hike. The main park is just ridiculous, went there at 9:30 am driving in circles trying to park in the only lot, with at least 5 other cars doing the same thing with more coming by the minute. After 10 minutes cruised out of there when I remembered this place. Saw maybe 10 people on the hike which is nothing this time of year. The secret may be out but people will continue to go to the main park because there are more attractions. And that's good.

Whenever I need a lift, I turn to a "KevDoes video. You turn a second or third choice into spectacular experience. You are so appreciative of everything around you and it rubs off on your viewers. By the time you finished this hike, I had a smile on my face. Thanks for the experience.

Kevin. You're really styling with those new sunglasses. Thanks for the intro to Kolob Canyon! I was not familiar with this part of Zion. This will now be on my Zion bucket list. Can't wait to visit Zion and maybe avoid the suttle and ride my e-bike into the park.

Are there shorter and easier hikes in Kolob bar the trailhead? Or is it just a case of walking part of the way then returning? Thanks in advance
@KevDoes Жыл бұрын
That’s a great question, I believe there were other hikes that were shorter but I don’t recall exactly. You can definitely just go out and back! It was nice along the entire trail!

Dang, another KZbinr in the Zion area around the time I was! Ran in to Mo & Hannah Awesome at the Hurricane Mtb. Festival. Would I have run into Van Duzer if I had hit Bryce?!! Love the snow-dappled (Navajo) sandstone; you're lucky to see it such. Most of the year, it's a furnace of heat and water is scarce! Anyway, your brother's reaction is awesome! The desert southwest oftentimes escapes description. Beyond beautiful. Awe inspiring, for sure.

@@KevDoes it was great! Thanks for the reply! Hey, since you've been to Zion before, have you hiked Angel's Landing? I ask because I finally hiked it in '19 and was blown away. (After stupidly skipping it on my honeymoon in '97.) It's truly jaw-dropping. Beyond amazing. But scary as all hell! Half of our group stopped or turned back at or just above the Boy Scout stop. But my wife, who has hiked and even slept atop Half Dome in Yosemite admitted that Angel's Landing tops it (not that it's a competition). So if you haven't, and you don't have a major fear of heights, put it on your list! But be careful; several people have fallen to their deaths, and two in March of this year unfortunately.

No dogs allowed in Zion, so I'll never get to see it. But thanks to you I got to see it thru your perspective and it was fantastic !! Your bro's shoes were still clean in the end ! Thanks for showing it and someday maybe you'll strum a guitar at some place similar ! Peace Man !!!
