Where were you planning non using it? Kolorbond is Great. Try the original and not the water based version.

Great video !! I have painted 3 windows so far with Allcoat and not wonderfully happy. Was about to buy Kolorbond but having watched your 2 videos I will now buy a small bedec and Frenchic to see which one sprays best through airless. Saved me a LOT of headaches when I had painted 30 odd more windows and found it all flaking off !

@@billysbrushes6411 brushes. Don't laugh.... For a nice easy to clean out... Try Wickes own brand pack of three. 1" 1½" 2" brush pack, about £11. We moved from Purdy Pro Monarch (blue bristle) to use those. We also use the EcoUnion MiB brushes. And have a look at Arroworthy Classic. Either slash cut or traditional. Get those at Crown and other paints brush supplies.

Great video. Customer service with Kolorbond is aweful. I used kolorbond original on a set of my own doors , guaranteed not to fade and they faded like crap after 14months. Kolobond used every excuse in the book🙄🙄. Love the video’s Phil👍🏻

My mate used the aqua on internal windows and it came off just the same. They blamed him, but he was a very experienced car painter and his prep work is 👌🏻. But it failed just like yours.

Good prep. The use of adhesion grip primer. Then a quality paint over that. There's many paints to look at.

TP2 primer and then Tp5 finish I know cellulose based test that against the colour bond you usually use and you might be surprised which is better

The KolorBond Original/classic I use is brilliant and I've had no problems with it. This test was with the WaterBased Aquatekto see how that is, not everyone sprays and there's plenty who want to se a brushable product for uPVC. On my test though it's not seemed to want adhere to the uPVC, I wonder if the uPVC is the problem and it's not sticking to it... it was new, but I did clean it down... see my other video on prep... Really quite strange that even with my nail it came off easy. I know the other sample board with AllCoat, Bedec & Frenchic is a different uPVC panel, but they held up well. It might be worth me doing the same test with same paints on the different uPVC to see if they act the same.

@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator I'm always sceptical of products with out primer especially water based products, I dont think you did anything wrong it's just the product but there are other spray companies that do water based products for upvc but doubt any are as good as the cellulose, hopefully the video saves some people from wasting there money and getting a bed name

If I'm totally honest I think I prefer that brushed finish it looks a lot smoother than the sprayed finish. Like you said if you had thinned it down you would have had a lovely finish with the sprayer

@@marsdencarl89 I think Carl next time round for spraying it I would thin it down, but for brushing... it took 4 coats and that was out the can, you wouldn't want it any thinner... you're be coating it up more than 4 coats.

I know of others who use it all the time and haven't had any problem.. I can't understand what when wrong... nether can KolorBond...as you'll have seen on the videos before, the prep was all done by the book.

Remember, it is claimed by KB the paint sinks into the surface. That my friends is a bare face lie. Please ignore the man behind the curtain.

Hi, I’ve been using kolorbond original for upvc windows and I’m wanting to move onto kitchens, I rang them up they told me to use the aquatec for kitchens? Have you used them on kitchens before? I’ve just ordered some for my own kitchen wish I’d seen this video 1st lol

LoL. Where I used it on Doris the door... Did you see that. It's well solid. Prep well, you can't do anymore. I use helmi 30, and everal aqua on kitchens.. also F&B modern eggshell. All no issues.

Just wondering if this is made for colorbond by aquatec. Who are based in Wrexham and water based suppliers. Solvent based will, I think always have a need. Water based in some situations is not good

@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator Yer Phil. I've seen the ones with the water based and solvent. The water based has a long way to go to be anywhere near as durable as the solvent. That level from Lidl is a canny bit of kit for the money. Good review. Oh and happy new year to you and yours.

its not you Phil its the paint its crap if you slapped some oil undercoat over that upvc without any prep it would stick to it like anything its just overhyped crap like a lot of them the company will say you have not cleaned it enough etc but companies are always trying to defend their paint i suppose it is hard on them with all the regs they have to face not being able to make good paint anymore

when it's dry it's dry lol without looking I'd say a good couple of hours is fine. The longer the better with some paints though.

@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator i sprayed my first upvc door today paul with the hvlp you have! i felt like i used so much paint i used the kolorbond.. i think i need to adjust my gun settings but the job still turned out perfect, do you lubrciate your gun everytime after cleaning?

@@Shortboxing47 first coat a fine waft.. then build up from the adding a bit more paint through the gun with each coat. When I clean up, I always wipe some vaseline or needle oil over the needle length.

Dont use this paint, most paints are NOT suitable for spraying UPVC or any plastics, especially waterborne paints!! only a handful of manufacturers paints work, and believe me they are expensive, upwards of £180 for 5 litres, and there all solvent based paints!!!! Im a furniture spray by trade and im not sharing pro paint manufacturers, as solvent sprays are for professionals !!!!!
