You can also see that Mahoraga is gradually gaining resistance to the slashes. At first Sukuna can easily chop his limbs off but later in the fight Sukuna's slashes aren't even doing anything besides just pushing Mahoraga around.

Malevolent Kitchen isn't actually a mistranslation. The first part, of his Domain Expansions name is fukuma (伏魔), comes from fukumaden (伏魔殿), referring to an abode of demons/a palace where demons lurk, and is also translatable as Pandemonium. The second part, mizushi (御厨子), has two important meanings: a zushi (厨子) is a miniature, double-doored Buddhist shrine, similar to a feretory, that is used to store important items like statues, śarīra, sutras, mortuary tablets, and so on. However, mizushi-dokoro (御厨子所) is a very ancient (Heian-era, Sukuna's era.) archaic word referring to a section of the Emperor's residential compound in the Imperial Palace, where *food from the kitchen compound, meant for the Emperor's meals, would be brought after cutting for more advanced stages of preparation.* The second character zu/kuriya (厨) literally means "kitchen". Sukuna the most powerful curse user, in other words the "emperor of curses", and is a cannibal, and regularly cuts things apart. The translation just seems weird in english because we don't have the words for what his Domain's name actually would translate to. Something along the lines of "Hellish Banquet" or "The Devils Dining Room", though those don't quite fit either. *THE MORE YOU KNOW, AND KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE, G.I JOE.!*

I suggest people to read the manga version of this fight. There are sadly several internal monologues of Sukuna cut that explained his reasoning and strategizing during the fight which were cool to read.

YES!!! THANK YOU! I loved these chapters, made Sukuna more interesting as a character. caught me off guard that he barely said anything in the episode. imo it goes anime for spectacle and manga for an engaging fight. p.s. I personally preferred how Fuga played out in the manga. the quickdraw feeling that I got from it made Mahoraga seem all the more menacing. that's only my personal interpretation of that scene though so don't come at me.

Maybe dissect , he can dissect someone’s move and use it one day along with dissect like a cut. Maybe that’s where fuga comes from. Maybe a strong opponent he dissected and took it from, maybe that’s why he likes megumei so he can use those techniques. I think Toji can beat Jogo, I think Toji is just a tad bit stronger overall, however I don't think it's a good match up for Jogo. 15 finger Sekuna is just bodying him though. If Jogo is 8 fingers strong id say Toji is probably around 9 fingers strong.

They aren't bad translations, you can literally hear the characters say Makora and kitchen is a valid alternate take on the Japanese name of the domain, and fits thematically with Sukuna's cutting moves. Chat is always so biased towards just the first translation they see, in One Piece's case they always go LIZ at anything that differs from the scans but now because they read the Viz for Jujutsu Kaisen they suddenly treat it as gospel while Crunchyroll is wrong

Anime only watcher here. Here’s my theory on how sukuna is using fire techniques. Since he is saying fuga(open) I believe he has the ability to open planes of hell or something like that. He doesn’t really make the fire rather he’s harness it from another dimension. At least that’s my theory I’m excited to find out.
