I would love to spend a few shifts on that machine. I ran 355's in the early 80's. They were not much of a tractor compared to D9H models. Then I ran 375's around 1991 for a while. The Komatsu cab gives MUCH better visibility than the new Cat cabs. What those 375's didn't have was the bogey rollers on the undercarriage. Rough shift in a rock pile pushing to a loader compared to the ride the Cat D10N's I was also familiar with. The D 10 N would outrun, out push the 375 Komatsu. BUT...these Komatsu's climb so much better than any high drive Cat!!!! That was a BIG advantage pushing to a loader or benching. This one with the bogey rollers, more power would be a nice machine to operate.

@@Bowiiihowdy the engine no longer meets emissions. I have heard Komatsu is no longer producing parts for them.
@PAmining4 жыл бұрын
@@Bowiiihowdy I don't believe so. One of the problems was Komatsu had to stop the production line of 475s in order to make one 575. And being that the 475 is a better seller, the sale of a single 575 would be greatly offset by the lack of 475s built.

Is there any modern equipment that can trace its lineage back to IH / Dresser origins, or has some common design elements of the old brands?
@logdog89204 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Dresta brand is the modern day spin off of IH/Dresser. Back in the 90's Komatsu bought out Dresser, then they incorporated the superior planetary final drive design of the earlier TD15, TD20, into their own dozers. They then sold the Dresser design, to a Polish company. At the current time the machines have the Dresta name. I think that China has some control in this company. So yes, the old IH/Dresser genes, live on in the new Komatsu and Drestas.

@TheIrongutz4 жыл бұрын
Yup, I ran these as well and not a big fan. Rough as hell compared to a CAT and we had Komatsu engineers work with us to try and emulate the CAT controls which were better but still not the same. You can buy 2 Komatsu dozers to one CAT but you get what you pay for. The Komatsu 475-A is far better to operate than the 375 due to it being heavier.
