My Salazzle saved me during the Elite Four battle in Moon. She endured a super effective hit that would've fainted her, and then went on to evade two - TWO! - more of those attacks to finally win. I had no other pokemon, everyone else was fainted, and no revives or even heals; I'd forgotten to stock up and was confident I could do it anyway. I did, but only by the skin of my teeth and a massive amount of luck. That moment was by far the most tense pokemon battle I've ever had, and seeing those messages that she dodged, barely clinging to that single point of health, was an ecstasy I never felt before or since. It was amazing. Needless to say that she's still my favorite from that team, I love her so much.

Another reason salazzle is a fire type is because if there they live. You said they live in cave. Most of the caves in Hawaii were made by a highway of lava. Hawaiian lava always trys to make is way to the ocean. But surface lava is slow moving because if it losing heat to the air the dams of celled lava. But if the lava comes to a drop or cave it will pick up retain is heat and sometimes increase it by the added speed. Over time thes lava flows can change direction carving a new route changing the lava tubes into harmless basalt caves.

To be fair, by the time Gen 7 happened, Pokemon had so many Pokemon that they didn't need to make new Pokemon that wouldn't fit the region. They could just have old Pokemon fit that role instead... Like, they needed Pokemon that fit the location that the region was based on (or the nation at least).... but some Pokemon that were kinda free from that restriction, just to make it an original world of it's own (plus, they kinda already had that mix from the start). But with so many Pokemon already fitting that role, making Pokemon that don't fully fit the region makes no sense anymore...
@TheDeathmail3 жыл бұрын
@@ILsocker Maybe not; I'm sure that they did try to fit quite a few of the Pokemon that fit... but they also seemed to try and add some Pokemon that just didn't fit.... Frostlass for instance or Shiftry or Nine Tales. Pokemon that are obviously Japanese. Or Xatu which fits Native American Lore much better. But, at the same time, Kanto and Unova kinda did the same thing. Look at Machop. It's obviously more of a Western Style wrestler. Hell, Unova has Sawk and Throh, which have their roots in Japanese martial arts, while Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee are obviously based upon fighting sports made famous in New York (modern boxing and modern kick boxing) yet are in Kanto dex. Alakazam was based upon Western psychics and Arcanine was based upon a Chinese mythical beast.

Dragon comes from Drakon which means Serpent. This is the reason why reptiles in general can be labeled as dragons in different cultures. Mythological sea-serpentes, winged-serpents, big sized reptiles and others creatures are the representation of dragons in their respective civilization. So, its not a stretch to have translated a Mo'o as dragon.

I want to clear up why Incineroar is a wrestler. Mainly because so many people don't understand(I don't like It but I know) Polynesia has deep roots in pro wrestling, more specifically, Samoa. There have been many Polynesian wrestlers, the most famous wrestler of all time, the Rock, is Samoan. And the Rocks best "run" was as the heel of the company opposite of Stone Cold Steve Austin. Even now, the biggest story in WWE is about a Samoan man getting into his ancestry and starting "Samoan dynasty" and the family mellowdrama inside that. While not the best answer, that's just a wrestling nerd's view on it.

"Why would a cat be a heel wrestler?" There is a famous japanese face wrestler called "Tiger Mask" (and yes, its more a title than a singular wrestler. but still) and he has a heel counter part known as "Tiger the Dark." Whose colour scheme happens too be the same as Incineroar's. There may be more too it than that, but I imagine it is the main inspiration. There is also the fact that Samoa (located in Oceania) has a huge connection too the wrestling business. Especially WWE (the biggest professional wrestling company in the world).

Hey Lock, one thing about Salazzle’s pheromones you didn’t mention is the fact they don’t just work on male Salandits; they work on males of ALL species, *_including humans!_* Now, granted, it’s actually stated as female Salandit pheromones that can do this. However, since Salazzle is basically a more powerful female Salandit, it’s not a stretch in the slightest if Salazzle’s stronger pheromones can work on humans too. So the idea that a Salazzle might use her pheromones to seduce a man into “spending the night” with her, just like her polynesian mythological counterpart, is potentially more likely than not; especially if said man is that Salazzle’s trainer.

Yeah I think right behind dragons, the seductive magical creature that turns into a hot lady (and sometimes male) is another thing in mythology and religions have in common world over. Would say that would make a great video discussing those stories but I don’t think they would be relevant to Pokemon. But it would be an interesting fact to have.

I got a good laugh out of the "Don't answer that!" part... I love this, and this makes me love Salazzle more...

My favorite thing about your videos is that you're both willing to talk about the sexier side of Pokemon designs and able to turn that talk into genuinely funny commentary rather than awkwardly shuffling around the design choices or just being horny. That and you've got based jokes for days (the West Taiwan one had me searching for my sides afterward) and have sincerely interesting research and theories to present. Dunno why I slept on your channel for so long, now I'm subscribing. Keep up the good work.
