Oh look, a spotted owl, a pocket gopher, a squirrel! Wake up people!

More money spent on saving owls than children.

Costly and unrealistic. The environment that the Spotted Owl once thrived in has been largely destroyed (old growth forests).

not really true it was always the barred owl the spotted owl existed in areas that been logged and replanted for a hundred years until they started cohabiting w barred owls

@@glennwilson7914 Strange, that wasn't the story we've been told for decades when it came to the Spotted Owl's survival. The public was told Old Growth Forests had to be preserved or the Spotted Owl would go extinct. Pretty much destroyed a way of life for thousands of loggers and countless small logging towns across the PNW.

What's the end game? Is the government going to kill tens of thousands of Barred Owls every year in perpetuity? How does that even make any sense? Barred Owls are expanding their range because they are better equipped to survive than Spotted Owls. Natural selection is constantly picking winners and losers. This half-baked plan is like trying to stop the winds from blowing or the Sun from rising.
