Depending on how you initially installed it, scoop update komorebi or winget update LGUG2Z.komorebi Just make sure you stop komorebi first so that the binary can be replaced

interesting use of rust on windows. i always thought it too much of a hassle to use rust with windows api. which gui package are you using?

I would actually say that out of Linux, macOS and Windows, Windows is the most mature platform to develop for when using Rust Linux DEs in particular are very painful to develop for using Rust, but hopefully PopOS Cosmic will have a better story For the GUI stuff I'm using egui and eframe which is cross platform

@@LGUG2Z i'll take your word for it since i don't use rust or develop for linux. it's just that when i looked at MS's rust bindings for windows API, i saw unsafe blocks everywhere. i might take another look at rust. i hear recent updates made it faster to compile too.

My config is pretty much just the quickstart config! The only difference is that I have only 3 workspaces (ultrawide vertical stack, columns and floating) I try to keep things simple 😅

@@LGUG2Z Ah yes, I was reading the documentation and I think I got it set up the way I like it. I was also watching the latest videos and I can't wait for the komorebi bar! I think what caused me a bit of confusion when I made this comment was the way the windows are stacked, before switching back to Windows I was using Yabai on MacOS and it has a mode where all the windows are stacked automatically. From what I understand in komorebi you need to stack/unstack them manually through shortcuts, right? And after at least 1 stacked app, the stackbar becomes visible.

@@JohnMaverick-w7c komorebi.lgug2z.com/schema#tab-pane_window_container_behaviour_oneOf_i1 You can set "window_container_behaviour" to "Append" to have new windows that are opened automatically stack on top of the currently focused window lgug2z.github.io/komorebi/cli/toggle-window-container-behaviour.html If you prefer to set this behaviour on the fly (automatically stack new windows vs. create new tiles for new windows) there is a toggle command that you can bind to a hotkey komorebi.lgug2z.com/schema#stackbar_mode For the visuals, you can also set the stackbar mode to "Always" to ensure that stackbars are shown above all containers, even if they only contain a single window - but this is purely visual and does not impact the actual behaviour, which is determined by the first option and the second command I shared above

1. The bar doesn't exist yet, but probably not, because komorebi has a fundamentally different approach and goals vs i3, and the same will be true of the bar 2. Aarch64 compilation isn't an issue, just make sure you have the relevant MSVC toolchain and select the aarch64-pc-windows-msvc target

@@LGUG2Z I may be misattributing a blog post to you, but I seem to recall you saying that you had to switch to Windows for work, which prompted the development of komorebi in the first place. (Maybe this was a write-up by someone who found komorebi as a result of switching to Windows for work.) A fun irony if I'm remembering correctly! Btw, I have a 21:9 monitor, too, and the offset feature in this release is killer. So so good. Thank you! Carlie Rae Jepsen rules!

That's a very unfair comparison, the linux TWMs are big projects. This man is basically developing komorebi on his own, and the fact that it WORKS besides all Microsoft's restrictions is amazing.
