This particular piece of music used to play in the background at my favorite sushi restaurant ever, maybe favorite restaurant period. I went there so many times as a young kid, the music became engraved in my head. It reminds me of good food, and good times. The last time I ever went there right before I moved away from the area, I asked to see the disk for the name of the song that I had grown so fond of. When I searched it on youtube, I found it here. It melts away any stress, and let's me almost feel like I'm sitting in that wooden booth again, eyes wandering the restaurant, stomach full. An incredible song, that I am so thankful to have found.

You’re lucky you’ve been to a Japanese restaurant where traditional style music was being played on the radio there. The local one I would always go to would have modern hits playing instead.

My favourite music is jazz. You expressed exactly my sentiments (I am Indian and live in France). I have two Japanese friends. This music will bring me closer to them.

@TheDavid2222 - & it's very peaceful & meditative, measured yet flowing. Great for frayed nerves & just for a lazy, inclement day.

you talk like a specialist... you talk about superiority and discoursive systems that require certain aspects in concordance to validate an expressions. To be more clear, you judge other forms of expression validating them in the term of the "high culture", the bourgeois elitist terms. Does this music need to be written in a european centered notion of musical ecriture to be officially validated as... anything ?
