Yeah I haven't bought a native instrument product since komplete 10 ultimate. Then I checked what they are selling now and it's beyond insane what NI has brought to the table. And I just discovered this sale today. And since I own komplete 10 from way back in 2016 in addition to the summer sale, I can get 14 ultimate for under 200 dollars. That's fucking insane man I'm definitely buying lol

Native instruments is too focused on instruments and sampler for Hip Hop, most extensions target this style. Missing more synthwave or cinematic, is my opinion.

They do have synthesizers included like BX_OBERHAUSEN which is a clone of OBX, which is GREAT for synthwave, retrowave, etc...Super 8, FM8 they are there.

I'm kinda torn between Ultimate and the Collector's edition. Realistically, Ultimate alone most likely has more to offer than I'll ever need. However, besides Choir: Omnia, Lores and Arkis look so interesting too me as I'm a big fan of ambient music. Not sure if it's worth the 300 bucks extra but I guess I've got a few weeks to ponder over.

You could do what I did - I upgraded to Ultimate the last time they had their 50% sale, so now I can think about upgrading to Collector's for $300... Just keep in mind that, as mentioned, it's really more about Cinematic additions to your collection, or just wanting to have everything at your disposal.... So make the move to Ultimate for sure, and you can ponder upgrading again the next time the 50% sale rolls around.

I definitely love movie style themes and I'm sure those cinematics sounds could come in handy with many other genres too like hip-hop and trap etc. I do hip-hop and trap mostly and also like to made videogame style and movie themes on the side. Do you use the stuff in Collectors much or is it a bit overkill? Worth it for you you think? Thanks for your reply..

I upgraded from Standard to Ultimate. I wonder why Native Instruments didn't mark down Icon Bass. All the other session guitars are marked down.

I think that Standard would cover that for you no problem with all of the Play Series instruments included. Would you want to have Rock/Pop instruments as well? If yes, then I would go with Ultimate to get all of the Session Guitarists/Bassists and Abbey Road Drums. Plus a bunch of other libraries/expansions. Let me know if you have any more questions! I would say with 99.9% certainty that it is worth the $100 USD, but ultimately it depends on your situation and what you will use.
