Komplete Kontrol is not 7 gig like it mentions here, its 171 megabytes. for it to autoplay a sample when you select it (without loading the plugin) you need to install 'Previews' in Native Access. This is what is 7.9 gigabytes so make sure you install this if you want to hear a preview when you select it.

Thanks Sanjay...really appreciate your style and skillz. As someone who has dabbled in the digital music space for a few years, the NI topic was there but I never dove into the deep end. Your video answered a bunch of questions and more importantly helped set context with/in the NI world. Considering you speak to a large community that are in the early stages of digital production, have you ever considered doing a walkthrough of the entire Native Instruments ecosystem? A video about the pieces and their relationships to each other could be pretty helpful. Even as we speak I'm looking at my Native Access screen wondering what a bunch of the packages are dependent on. I know you talk about all the vendors out there, but as you demonstrated in this video, an understanding of the NI environment makes exploring and creating much, much easier. Congrats on a great year and please keep up the quality work. (btw, my wife curses your name when she sees me watching your videos....she know more furniture will be removed in the near future) :)

Hey Sanjay C! Loving your videos. I saw you recently put an S88 Mk2 in your studio remodel, but before you got a KK keyboard, were you able to figure out how to map an external Midi controller to the Komplete Kontrol "library browser"? I've been considering getting a Komplete Kontrol keyboard and using it with the Komplete Kontrol software. It's confusing to me why NI used the exact same name for a piece of hardware and a piece of software. I've been looking at used Komplete Kontrol keyboards and am wondering if the software that is included with the purchase of a new keyboard is the same as the free Komplete Kontrol software offered at their website? That would make purchasing a used keyboard more appealing as these are pretty pricey and if the software is free, that's less reason to pay more for new. Thanks if you know and take the time to respond.

Komplete Kontrol also has a very bad down-side: The UI and font size is so small, it's is almost impossible to read. Even on 1920px HD screens. Anything above that, forget it. In Arturia you can make the UI bigger, in Komplete Kontrol you cannot. People have complained about this fact for years now, but NI never improved it. Even for people with good eye-sight, this is a real no-go.

Great video. How did you get the komplete kontrol parameters to map to Push 2?
@SanjayC5 жыл бұрын
They actually mapped automatically. The Push just mapped each knob without setup.

Having issues with mine mapping parameters. When I open it up it works for the first instance of komplete kontrol, but if I add additional instances or group tracks together they go away.

Hmmm...is there some way to figure out what midi Ccs Kk is using?
@boywonder20935 жыл бұрын
@@SanjayC Mine does not automatically map for Push 2. I have to add parameters manually with the configure option.

I really love your videos. Thanks for doing it! Also, would you know anything about using ROLI Lightpad block with the Komplete Start package? I was only able to use the "single-channel mode" on ROLI block to control it. Just wondering if it is possible to make use of MPE expressiveness to play Komplete Start sounds?

If you're using Ableton or FL, you can only use it in single channel mode because those DAWs are not MPE compatible.

I tried using on GarageBand. Isn’t that a MPE compatible DAW? Even in that I could just get vibrato to work, by setting pitchbend range to 12. Glide was also working as intended, however I wasn’t able to get slide or lift to work. Do you have any suggestions?

Question: Let's say you open an instrument track in Logic pro with Komplete Kontrol and you have a Maschine or Komplete Kontrol controller, are you able to navigate through the plugin via the hardware.?

ALl the plugins that kontrol finds for you are included with it or you have to own them first?
