After filming this and editing it, I noticed my form was odd. Early releasing on a lot of my first drives. This was a big issue that cost me some strokes at Dynamic Discs Open that I will work on here in Des Moines. If you’re ever struggling with a part of your game, record yourself!! I even noticed some weird stuff with my putt that I’ll be tweaking as well.

Glad you're back, hope the health keeps improving. Remember no one is perfect, we all struggle, but if we can find the positive path thru that we can achieve a balance. It was nice to watch you and your explanations of the new regimen. Only good stuff ! Best wishes, head up high, you are an amazing ambassador for the sport, congratulations on all your achievements.

Was really glad to see you do well at DDO, finding your way into top 10 the first couple rounds, and showing up on coverage. I know mental game can be pretty hard for some people, particularly when working through injuries (I got a shoulder myself) and if your confidence in your game ever just gets really shaken. Just keep it all one shot at a time and don’t beat yourself up. Just because you walk the lead off batter doesn’t mean you can’t strike out the rest of the side (I was a pitcher in days gone by). Have fun out there and get healthy, Kona!

When I saw your first putt, I was thinking yeah! That form looks so natural and relaxed… just work that one into your routine for Tournaments. 🤙👍
@stitch438

That's hilarious considering she herself said her form is odd and needs work. It never ceases to amaze me that people will literally lie in an attempt to say something "nice". Honesty no longer exists in today's cancel culture, so we have this instead. Good stuff.
@NickCarroll
@NickCarroll Жыл бұрын
@@stitch438 I think this is bit of a stretch, that fuffurfly is saying this due to dishonesty or that his post is a result (even tangentially) of cancel culture. Her putt does look better, not just in form, but in result, and it does look more natural and relaxed. I wouldn't say it's optimal, but I think she'll work it out if she keeps working on it. She solicited advice from others - pros and others - and has been willing to change her putt to get better.

@@NickCarroll If you look through other chats/comments related to the FPO you see this quite often. And in general it's the theme when it comes to FPO, "support the ladies" just for participating. It's like MPO is the professional side where people can openly talk about player's performance, then there is FPO where only positive statements can be made and it's not so much about performance. I'm not against the FPO in any way, just saying there seems to be very different criteria by which the player's are viewed across the divisions. And you are correct on the terminology, I should have used the term "virtue signaling".
@NickCarroll
@NickCarroll Жыл бұрын
@@stitch438 There's a difference between constructive criticism and destructive, and the corollary to your complaint are the people who likewise revel in the insults and personal attacks on FPO because they're women, usually due to unrealistic expectations. Not every critique of a woman is because they're female (or mansplaining), and likewise not every defense of women in an argument is white knighting or due to virtual signaling. That said the OP's comment doesn't appear to be virtue signaling, at all, and it's a bit of a stretch to just make that the default reasoning for it. The bottom line is Kona's putt _does_ look better, and it's more natural and relaxed than it used to be. I mean, it's obvious to anyone who's watched her putt before. It was a lot less efficient, and unusually complicated. It's not perfect, but it shows progress by Kona. People should be able to point things like that without being personally attacked, or being accused of lying, or virtue signaling. It's just basic decency. I post positive stuff all the time to different disc golf youtubers - male or female - and it's not virtue signaling, and has nothing to do with their gender. Most of the time people say positive things, and those things should be taken at face value by default.

Play disc golf. If you can't play disc golf due to injury, don't play disc golf. If you can't play professional disc golf because you're bad at disc golf, don't play professional disc golf.

Mental health is real. But there ain't no ashawaga berry that will make you putt well. Seriously, I gave my whole world to the sport, but ultimately, I can't putt well. I just can't figure it out. And my diet (vegetarian since 2010) has nothing to do with it.
