I met David Hayter earlier this year and he was so stoked to be working on Metal Gear again. He seemed so excited to be interacting with Metal Gear fans and encouraging the excitement cause he’s excited to be back working on it in some way. Hopefully Delta isn’t the only thing we see from MGS going forward

What annoys me is people being skeptical of Konami is fair but people with Silent Hill 2 almost smugly wanted the whole project to be terrible and then were disappointed when it wasn't. That's not really a good way to see improvement that's just looking for figurative blood lol

They never did. The entire metal gear series is the greedy capitalization of one man's vision that was forced to be expanded just to satisfy his corporate overlords and his rabid fanbase threatening to kill him if he stopped making Metal Gear Solids.

I’d like Metal Gear Solid to be remade. I’m just wondering what you could do with Psycho Mantis. Would you stick to vibrating the controller and maybe checking what games are installed in your machine? And the trick of blacking out your screen and saying HIDEO in the corner wouldn’t make sense to a lot of people anymore. Or would he do something new? It kind of reminds me how the first line of Neuromancer, that the sky is the color of television tuned to a dead channel, would mean something completely different to a young reader today than when William Gibson wrote it. Maybe Psycho Mantis could break the fourth wall a bit more than he did before and acknowledge he has new tricks. Maybe send fake alerts that your controller battery is low, change your controller layout back to the original game mid-battle, do a fake BSOD, and instead of plugging your controller into a different port you need to do something like switch from controller to keyboard on PC.

Konami still has some work to do before I can consider them somewhat virtuous (ha!), but damn if they aren’t trying. I’m super stoked for SH2 tomorrow and I hope their original games afterwards will be on par. As for new Metal Gear games, I’d say they’re KINDA playing with fire if they want to tell an original story, but I think aside from full remakes of Metal Gears 1 and 2, I’d love to play a game that takes place between MGS2 and 4 with Raiden and Philanthropy on their mission to rescue Sunny

Slowly but surely they are. I think they realized that sitting on valuable IPs like MGS and SH, along with how cheap it is to release remasters of games like Castlevania and Suikoden, can give those IPs more monetary opportunities.

One or two decent remakes of games they didn’t need to create from scratch doesn’t give me any faith in Konami. The amount of bad is still heavily outweighed by the good of a few remakes. And I can’t stress enough of the fact these are just remakes with stories already created. This shouldn’t give people hope that Konami has changed

Honeslty i doubt it because MGS Delta and Silent Hill 2 Remake are both dev by outside studio instead developed by Konami themselves, they are only publishing the game cause the remakes have been getting some traction and Konami wanted a piece of the pie. Remember the last thing Konami made was a pachinko machine, Silent Hill vending machine and MGS Survive.

Let us not jump the gun just yet on saying Konami is now the good guys in redoing certain classics like the metal gear solid series and silent hill, here jay. Believe me when I say this it’s gonna take a lot more to get the fans back in their good graces considering their own repertoire of games that deserve remix but never capitalize on what the fans had wanted way back in the day.

I still think it's worth seeing where they go. Bringing back Hayter, actually giving devs leeway, listening to feedback, these are all very good things. We can't whine that they don't do these things and then ignore when they do like some people have. Did you see people trying to review brigade Silent Hill 2 remake for example? There's a lot of people who want Konami to stay bad and want Konami to be a bad company. I want them to improve and be better but it seems like a lot of people are satisfied with Konami failing and their games just going away or being lost to time.

Now while I am glad that David Hayter is returning to reprise the role that he made famous, that of course being big boss/naked/solid snake, we have to wait and see on how both the remake of metal gear solid snake eater and silent hill 2 does on the market for fans to play once more.

Ok, first a bit of context. I'm based in Japan and one of my jobs is in journalism over here, so I've been following the whole Konami thing for a while. First off, the perception amongst almost all the current and former staff I've spoken too is that Konami are one of the worst companies in Japan to work for. The managers are petty bullies and Kojima's situation there was hardly unique. However, Kojima was also, allegedly, a bit of a diva and some other staff resented what they perceived as "special treatment" he received. My personal opinion is that Kojima is an excellent artist and storyteller, but maybe not the unique auteur that he thinks he is. Also, Konami lost a lot of good will beyond the Metal Gear fan sphere for how they handled Pro Evolution Soccer. EA's FIFA games always sold more, but most soccer fans regarded PES as a better game in terms of its realism and playability. That all went out the window when Konami stopped making standalone PES games in 2022 and changed it to E-Football with forced online, little if any offline playability, substandard gameplay and a shit ton of micro transactions. They promised offline modes in a future update but that was 3 years ago and it's been silence ever since. They only make statements when they have new player card packs to sell. They've taken an interest in Metal Gear again purely because the Pachinko market is drying up and they need a new cash cow. Japan passed a law recently allowing for the building of casinos. These will begin operation at the end of this decade, and when that happens the Pachinko industry will crash. So, all the smart money, legal or otherwise is moving out of Pachinko now. And on that note, I'll be careful how I word this, but let's just there is strong anecdotal evidence to suggest links between senior management at Konami and what remains of organized crime in Japan. The Yakuza aren't anywhere near as powerful as they were in the 80s, but they, allegedly, have quite a bit of money tied up in Konami, and hence the often "forceful and robust" approach Konami management takes in dealing with perceived troublemakers. Anyway that's just my take, sorry it's so long winded but I hope this gives the viewers a bit of extra context. Love your content, keep up the good work.

Konami is on the right track, but I am still far from trusting them. The day they release a proper sequel to one of these established properties that have been built by devs that are no longer there. - that is when I will see them as having really made a comeback.

In my opinion the game that i want the most to see is simply a remake of the two metal gear because the amount of possibilities are infinite. I'm just so curious to see the result in 3 dimensions, i'm curious about the appearance of solid snake and of Big Boss. To me remaking metal gear was the most logical thing to do at the time of mgs 5. The end of the game introduced metal Gear 87, mgs 5 is literally the last game of the continuity before the metal gear games so why not remaking them.They are old nowadays and the accessibility is not as easy as the others metal gear solid. If we have a remake of mg 87, everything will be new for the players, new gameplay mecanics, new visions, new level designs. So yeah the first two metal gear are the mgs that i'm the most curious to see because in my opinion MGS 1-2-3-4 are just so perfect in so many aspects. Mgs 3 is seriously for me one of the most detailed and crazy game that i played, i'm glad that mgs 3 comes out but the original game is already perfect in my opinion.

​@@visionary1138ohhh it's true that remaking from the start, with the first game of the chronology is indeed the best way to remake the franchise with the trust and the support of the players (even more with the visible qualities of this remake). Thank you for asking for joker and if i have to give you an answer I would say that as gigantic joker 1 fan I'm broken. As a batman fan I'm sad and as cinema fan I'm just confused with this film. I had a decent time watching the movie but i hated the message of the movie who constantly deconstruct everything that I loved with the first film. I'm saddened that the musical aspects of the film was so underwhelming and forgettable and I'm also disgusted by the treatment of Arthur. The treatment of the joker in this movie is terrible in my opinion but the treatment of Arthur is even worse, I'm so disgusted by how this character is just constantly betrayed and abused and without any revenge like in the previous movie. I think that this sequel is certainly one of the most frustrating things that I have ever seen and it's still difficult to realizes the choice made for this film. So I'm extremely disappointed of this film even if this is far from being a very bad movie I have seen worse but that's a big betray of the director for me. Konami got too big for their bretches, started being degenerates, realized that Pachinkos alone weren't going to fund their company and now they're doing what they should have done all along. Give it a few years .. they'll go back to showing their true colors.

No. SH2 is not redemption. It’s still a meh remake where they toned down a lot of stuff like the suicide and dark subjects make the thing have less emotional impact.
