I think this was a good idea! I have some friends that want to learn but weren't sure what to get, and now I can have this to teach them with some interesting decks. The comic rulebook/playing guide is a great addition to get younger players involved!

I love the product because you get Zeus, extra deck monsters, and the dark magicians! My favorite card in this set is Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder

It's a cool product with a lot of nestalgic cards but I can't see myself getting it unless the price is around $15 cause I'd likely cherry pick some cards and make a deck through tcgplayer.

Terrible starter set. 👎 Not only is it a bad deal for the value it doesn't teach new players the current game as it's played let alone teach the players all of the mechanics. This starter set teaches the lie that Konami is pushing in order to sell product. The lie that you can still have a back and forth duel like you could before Konami stopped caring about game balance. Once these new players who buy this product realize that the current game is actually about locking your opponent out of the game before they lock you out not only are they going to be out the money they wasted on this product they'll also likely never purchase another Yugioh product again. If you want to teach new players Yugioh you need to teach them all of the mechanics and give them a deck that has actual synergy and that can be used against current decks. You don't just sell them a couple of decks with a ton of useless and random cards. Only a small handful of those cards in this set are actually useful. Again you can make a starter set for beginners that's actually good full of nothing but useful cards as well as teach all of the mechanics of the game. The problem is Konami's greedy corporate self doesn't want to release a good product like that for beginners. They want those beginners hooked on the same treadmill as the rest of the players chasing shortprinted cards in packs just to build a single deck that can compete. And then Konami wonders why players have left Yugioh and why they can't draw in and keep new players.

Definitely a good idea, I think this'll help bring new players to the game because a good portion of my friends say the games to complicated to learn. so something like this should definitely help people pick up the basics, Maybe they'll release an advanced version later.

The problem is that the basics are never difficult to get, the part that keeps people from getting into Yugioh isn't covered by this product. This isn't a introductory product, because it doesn't actually introduce you to the game, only offer a limited experience and sometimes may confuse people if this is actually what the game is all about.

For me, I feel like the guide is extremely helpful. Or at least it appears to be. I grew up dueling with friends, with no rules. Just straight up summon what you can and send it. We would also keep up with the show, and that’s where we learned how to tribute. Anyways, these new “xyz” , “link” , “synchro” seems a bit too much for an old folk like me (33yrs old). Looking forward to this deck!

I learned similarly! Give the other mechanics a shot man! I'm 26, and believe in you! I see many players older than me playing the newer mechanics. Synchros just need a tuner and another monster who's total levels meet that of the synchro your trying to summon, XYZ just need the number of monsters of certain level that is specified on the card(by far the most fun and easy newer mechanic), and links work similarly to xyz, but their materials are sent to the graveyard. It's definitely a good product in my eyes and I want it tbh, Yu-Gi-Oh (atleast from my beginning experience) was complicated and all I had at the time was my deceased aunt's old cards (god rest her soul, her Red Eyes B Chick remains in my deck for her sake) and the Anime after got a Blue Eyes White Dragon as a gift towards/near Christmas one year eventually watching Duel Monsters episodes and Up to Gx It's taught me the basics eventually Duel Links taught me everything else i know so if there's a simple way in just 20 bucks i say go for it ;) , also nostalgia is also a win too You can't go wrong with a beautiful Dark Magician Girl or a nice Dark Magician card(s) with other nostalgic cards for those who grew with the anime (like me whose watched Duel Monsters a few times during Toonzai and was curious at first on why there's two Yugis at first me being a silly little kid haha)

Anyone who’s a fan of making xyz or synchron decks is this, but divine arsenal aa Zeus sky thunder was the best reprint choice, which I even pulled from the mega tins 2021, can’t wait to pick out multiple copies of it, I was also hoping big eye would be included due to dark magician being included, but it didn’t make it.

I think that this is a good way for new players to start getting the hang of the basic mechanics of Yu-Gi-Oh. However, I do feel like this 2-player starter set could use more of the other mechanics of Yu-Gi-Oh such as link summons, pendulum summons, fusion summons, ect. In addition, I also think that the duels in this starter set are more slower than modern Yu-Gi-Oh which might affect how new players see the game when they play with other players or go to a locals. Overall, I think this set isn't the worst but I do think that konami could do better in the near future by releasing more of these kind of sets.

I think it's a good idea, they may not be solid or competitive decks, but it does slow the game down for new players, showing off synchro and XYZ is good since they are very common and somewhat complicated. It's better than someone loaning a friend a spare deck then combo all over them which is a common issue in the community.

Zeus is the only real reason to get this deck. It's good for new players but it doesn't really offer a lot to experienced players. I also think there should have included link monsters at least, and fusion monsters too. Pendulums would probably overcomplicate it for beginners.
