All Omni-negates should be gated behind either 4+ unrecyclable resource to summon, require their Archetype Monster(s), require Mono-Type Monster(s), or Locks you out of Certain things after being summoned like Monotype Lock, Attribute Lock, Archetype Lock, Type of Summon Lock or a combination of those.

The problem is that generic cards are banned because they refuse to ban the actual problem. Linkuriboh has been around for years and nothing but one deck is abusing it so it has to go. It wouldn’t be so bad if Konami actually brought back cards once said deck is hit.

Link kuriboh comes back and forth as being an enabler in these decks. Gouki needed it, Ace, lab, ect. It's just a cheap enabler for combos. Shoot, blue eyes use this for a free stone dump, ect. Ect. And that's not even mentioning making a full potential S.P. very easy to get into.

To me, it's not that rogue deck players "relied" on generic cards. It's more like their next to only option was to play generic cards so that their deck could be played. The hits to Baronne and Savage hurts many ideas i have had these past few days, and there's not really much of a way to replace them in a lot of those decks. But, there's always meta. I'll just play FKSE until they actually get hit.

@@traplover6357 Actually, no. The ideas I had were actual archetypes that could do things on their own and used a few generic staples to add more aggression or even protection. So what if a single OPT negate was on the field. What's worse about that is that we still have decks playing 15-20 handtraps. Hell, my marincess build plays 20 with crossout and CTBG. So we've gotten rid of a couple OTP negates...and all it stopped was the pure version of a T0 deck and maybe a few viable rogue options.

The meta decks have good strong boss monsters anyway ontop space for a lot of non-enige HANDTRAPS. We needed baronne for both! specially the handtraps. that is the toxic problem if you ask me and bad for the game. the amount of handtraps that you can play in a deck makes opening a hand vs your opponents hand like playing TIC-TAC-TOE or ROCK PAPER SCISSORS.

Exactly....They should keep meta decks in check by putting HARD restrictions on each of their "one card combo" such as "the moment you activate this card, until the end of your next turn you can ONLY special summon fire monsters". This way fire meta is kept in check from abusing and spamming those generic extra deck monster while rogue decks get to enjoy them for free while snagging a win or few here and there@@danilempke4245

Rundown: -Snake eyes unhit still tier 0 -95% of synchro decks hurt immensely -Traded anti spell floodgate for colossus’s way more accessible floodgate -Protos ftk back -several rogue strategies got a bit more consistent Overall: No change to the current top decks, dozens upon dozens of rogue decks hurt immensely and possibly fall out of any playability while splashable floodgates back at an all time high with another ftk to worry about. Some rogue decks are happy like mermaid Atlantean and majespectors, but with the tier zero format continuing it’ll take a gentlemen’s agreement to have success with these above casual level The reason trolls were saying ban linkkuriboh was because it was the one card in the deck/extra that if you ban it doesn't change their combo in any way. Princess or zillantis would make then change their end boards and combo lines for an example. Losing ash or oak would cause them to change their starting combo. But, replacing linkuriboh with anima allows the combo lines to stay exactly the same. It's still a dark for dark charmer, going second it could be a board breaker and going first it'll just be linked away. It actually could be argued to be just as good as linkuriboh in that regard. The trolls said ban linkkuriboh because it was the one card that changed literally nothing.

Pure snake eyes was hit. Its endboard was hit. Pure snake eyes used generic synchro Omni negate strategies a lot more than o to er synchro decks. Snake eyes fire king is untouched, but with the release of Tenpai soon the tier 0 is goi to be over

And if they really wanted to keep running the synchro variant theres plenty of other 10 options. Not to mention not every player used the jet synchron build.not to mention the next wave of support for snake eyes pushing their endboards further with another layer of interaction in legacy of destruction next week, not to mention any of those. It's hitting the indirectly with the baronne, borreload savage and linkuriboh hits. Snake eyes putting up baronne borrelload and putting apo, Ip in spell trap zone with flamberge on field won't be happening anymore. Evenly/Lightning Storm/Evenly seem so free now. Also Imperm/Veiler are better now, as Snake Eye can't dodge them anymore with linkuriboh gone.

Dragon link never dies. It lies dormant but it's only a matter of time. They have room to pivot. There is Borrelend. They can still play around nib with seals which is massive going forward. You can pretty much straight substitute Borreload for Draco Berserker. And there is already dis pater for lvl 10 synchro slot. They aren't in the best spot right now but it's not because of this banlist, and they will be back.

I always have had the belief that some of the most powerful effects should be balanced by making them difficult to use outside of a archetype they were specifically designed for... And so many problems are often a result of and difficult to balance around cards that have powerful effects that are way to open, generic, and or easy to summon, leaving them vulnerable to abuse by any deck that can feasibly afford the space. That is also not accounting for decks that had critical support cards be made unplayable ala Bans and restrictions, because they were also made generic enough to a point that a unrelated deck found a way to abuse those cards in a way not intended or were otherwise unhealthy for game balance, leaving the deck that needed those cards to be atleast on even footing on even a casual level in a broken and sad state...

Did they hit the gimmick puppet? FTK? You know the consistent one that can’t even be stopped with hand traps? Answer no So their list is stupid

​​ They 100% did hit some issues within the format, and the game in general. Banlists are not only for what's happening right now, but what's going to happen in the future. And time and time again Baronne and Savage Dragon have showed up in these overpowered decks so banning them is an amazing step towards the future and a hit towards what could be considered the "best" version of the deck'pure snake eyes with a synchro line. Summon Limt isn't healthy no matter the format, and it increases the power level of select decks, like Purrely, in order to balance the format in a different way.@@Hitman-zp5wi

Tbh Baronne didn’t really need a ban as it really only needed an errata. The reason a lot of people hate it is because it’s an Omni negate that takes generic materials. If it just had a restriction on its summon like needing Fleur Synchron then it would’ve probably dodged the ban list

I'm a Rogue Player and I'm glad Barrone and Savage are gone. Never had to much trouble with them but they really were WAY to easy to Turbo out. Appo was only really problematic bcus it was protected by Savage n Barrone. On top of the fact that nobody really brought Appo out by itself anyways. Now that it's by itself it's only easier to deal with it. Lose 800 attack per negate OR get outted in Spells/Traps/Out Muscled

My problem with Baronne de Fleur was never its ability to be used in every deck. It's its actual ability. It's got two ways to destroy cards, one being a negate, and a way to return itself to the extra deck, AND only one of them is a hard once per turn. My idea would be to just remove one of the card destroying effects, probably the one that isn't a negate, and rework the ability to return itself, like by maybe saying you can't resummon the same turn you use the effect, and you might have something. I don't use this card, I'm a Super Quant player, I haven't even been playing MD that long, and honestly only recently got really back into Yugioh, but I've been following this series for a while. I don't know how cards with over powered effects keep making it past playtesting, but then I remember, as a gamer, that they're just a terrible company, so I shouldn't be so surprised. And I don't even play silent Hill or Metal gear solid and I think their awful. The company, not the series. Just to clarify.

I don’t see why people are saying cards like Baronne and Savage are bad hits? Like it promotes such an unhealthy gameplay! Like you can’t just summon baron, keep going through combos not having to worry about a giant rock landing… This has been a banger banlist and I’m very keen to see the future format. Snake-eyes/FK is in a tier 0 state atm but things will change when Tenpai dragons and yubel come to full power,, there is a lot to look forward too ☺️

Light and Darkness dragon is a great replacement for Baron and Borrelload. It also stops spells, traps and monster effects and not a one per turn effect!

There’s clearly 2 ways to look at this: on one hand we love that Konami wants to move away from generic boss monsters and floodgates since they’re the copy paste end board for a lot of decks meta and rouge. On the other hand after Konami’s walked away with the money, these generic staple card types are reprinted then immediately banned or limited. No matter what happens, understand that this is what Konami’s intentions are. I have mixed feelings about this ban list, even though it is a good list.

Yea kuriboh and savage are really good cards but nowhere near ban worthy. So versatile not being archetype locked, and actually hurts those playing rokkets, all because of ONE deck type that likes to abuse those cards. Shouldve been limited, and absolutely dumb banning barrone right after they reprinted it and made it ridiculously accessible. Like i said shouldve been limited and with the current format, the list was lackluster and hurt more than balanced things out for most.

Immediate thoughts on the banlist at face value without thinking about it, an edit will come after some reflection at a later time. Bans: Linkuriboh, Barrone and Borreload Savage are rather wild bans. Sure Savage and Barrone were end board cards and generic but they’ve always been that way so hitting them now is an odd decision. Linkuriboh is in a similar boat, but not quite to the same degree of as the other two. Summon limit is summon limit, no surprise it’s here. Limits: Protos and Colossus I can see being potential problems in the future, the degree of which is TBD. Tidal isn’t going to do anything, to my knowledge the other three aren’t doing anything so this limit isn’t really relevant. Kirin is nice to come back, albeit it slightly late, should’ve come back last banlist to coincide with the release of the new cards. Chicken Game is a wild card to me, I don’t see it doing anything save maybe an issue with time rules. Anti-Spell is again, anti-spell I’m not surprised it’s here. Semi-limits: Completely irrelevant, I don’t think Armageddon Knight at two will amount to much at face value. Purrely Delicious falls under a similar category, I’m sure it will see play but I don’t think it matters. Unlimits: Malicious is nice to have at three, even though at 2 was just fine and made sense. Harp Horror and Terrortop to three is always nice but I don’t think matters at all. Engage to three will make Sky Striker a wild card in the future meta, I could see rouge at least. I think this is a very “meh” banlist, it doesn’t really do anything to curve Fire decks in the slightest or set the stage for anything coming in LEDE or INFO. As I stated above, I will reflect and consider everything further and will edit any changes of mind or thought then.

All I know is that if I'm going to play combo decks I'm not going to play combo decks where my opponent can just Nib me and I can't survive and have back and forth on the following turn. I will negate Nibiru and if people aren't playing the fair cards like Dark Ruler it is what is. I'm not going to make a board that Nibiru unfairly compensates for it breaking my board.
