I don't believe I've seen a better classical performance on KZbin. The setting is exquisite... really the finest orchestra hall I've seen over the last few years. Add to that the extraordinary camera work and sound quality. It is quite amazing that such fine work is being produced and available online. Then you add the orchestra which is world class in my estimation, especially so with a conductor who is so dynamic. The music breaths and I say that after watching a number of performances. Clearly Fabio Luisi's relationship with these musicians runs deep. I don't know if I've heard a better performance of this symphony. These videos deserve a much larger audience. Thank you DR for making them available.

At 16 years old, this is the piece of music I listened to that opened my eyes to classical music. Especially the 4th movement. For the first time in my life, I heard it and I understood it. It doesn't get any better than this. Pure fun! The first movement is either heaven or hell for those with epilepsy or OCD, and the fourth movement is just plain epic. Beethoven really milked it at the end there, didn't he? Artistically, of course.

I very much appreciate the audio engineering that has gone into this version of the 5th. I've heard instrument parts in this one that I really haven't heard in other recordings. The tempo is, in my mind, absolutely correct, and this along with the audio mix means I have gained a whole new level of respect for LVB. Many thanks for making this wonderful recording available.

I have seen better performances of this symphony. The first two phrases were too fast, therefore I cannot listen to the rest. Fabio Luisi is also the music director at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and he will be conducting this symphony again in February of next year. I have a feeling it is going to sound just like this performance.

Es werden immer Filme gemacht und dann die Musik dazu. Zu Beethoven passt perfekt eine Star Wars Episode die um die Musik gemacht wird. Wäre wirklich mal geil Sowas. Und ja es ist sehr schwer aber Beethoven hat sich die Symphony auch nicht in 5min ausgedacht. Der Kunst Willen wäre das phantastisch. Leider dreht sich ja nur Alles ums Geld und nach dem Mainstreambrei.
