does that thing you put on to cover the mic help at all? from what i've seen from the reviews of this camera, even if the wind cancel options is turned on, it still sounds pretty bad.
@Kongsumer7 жыл бұрын
Only a small amount. The wind option on cameras simply equalizes out / removes the bass area of the sound. You can do the same thing in post production. Blocking out wind noise is a challenge with all cameras and you really need a very fuzzy wind screen. I'm going to try something and make a video on it. Another good option if you can do it is to use a lavalier with a fuzzy. I use this one: amzn.to/2kGaWB7 If you get that one, you'll need this: amzn.to/2kG2FgO and if you want the windscreens: amzn.to/2kQWR4O Here is a much cheaper option, but I've not tried it with this camera: amzn.to/2kRkzhh Thanks for watching!

thanks for the reply, yeah i think an external mic is the way to go with this cam.

What was your plan for the future video for sound? Also, now that you've had the protector for 9 months has your opinion changed? Does the protector scratch easily? Does it get a lot of dust stuck in it? I think I noticed dust when you moved the camera near the sun.
@ciccorilla3 жыл бұрын
It does not stop dust getting inside the lens protector. Can’t use it on dirt roads if following another motorbike.

The old lens protector creates the well known "red spot", while the new one is nearly the same as without.

SOUND LOOP DROVE ME INSANE (BAD!!!). Please do NOT use these mindless loops; they do NOT enhance your otherwise USEFUL and excellently made videos.
@Kongsumer7 жыл бұрын
Sorry David. Is it the song in particular, the loudness, or do you prefer silence? Thanks for the feedback and comments!
@TheBakemann7 жыл бұрын
VASTLY prefer silence! Otherwise quickly get noise fatigue. Doesn't matter what the sound loop is; if it repeats and repeats, insanity ensues. THANKS for listening and caring! REALLY good of you!

Hello, thanks for the review. What are the parameters of the camera? 4K 100Mbs 30p, vibrant, stready active, wifi/bluetooth on? Which post production software do you use, PremierPro? Your video image is very sharp, I got same camera and I can't get the same quality. I use Microsdxc UHS 1 (3) kingston 64gb 95mb/s write.
@Kongsumer7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes to all of your settings posted. I use Premiere Pro. Exported with KZbin 4K setting in Premiere and maximum render quality checked. Indoor video recorded with this lens: amzn.to/2mGJgOS using the a6500 amzn.to/2iqmmtl No sharpening or other effects done in Premiere. Straight off of the cameras.

Can the AKA-HLP1 lens protector make fit to FDR-X3000? My retailer only have those, they don't have AKA-MCP1.
@ВасяНемизов6 жыл бұрын
I bought this cover for my X3000 in China on AliExpress cheaper than in any store in the world. AKA-MCP1 came in original packaging and the seller delivered a set of napkins for lenses (which cost $ 2 separately.) This is the cheapest price for today AKA-MCP1 ali.pub/2c59vx

Thank you for your info. I just have bought a second waterproof housing. I am using it as sacrificial unit. I have drilled some holes around the microphones area, to improve the sound.

Hey, I'm still thinking whether I should get the X1000 or X3000 - what is your experience with both? The X1000 overheats less in 4K than the X3000? The image quality is pretty similira, right? Some even say that the X1000's image is better, although more "fishy-eye" and - for me the biggest drawback - with no stabilization :/ Maybe some gimbal would do the trick? Unfortunately most of them have bad opinions - the X1000 is too heavy for most and the motors of those gimbals are buzzing. Do you have any experience with the gimbals for the X1000 or X3000? Interested in your point of view if it goes about both cameras. The X3000 is twice the price of the X1000 in my country. On the other hand smooth videos without jitters and vibrations are also important for me and I mainly want to shoot 4K so I guess it's X1000+gimbal or X3000. Than the price is pretty much similiar and the X3000 is smaller cuz it doesn't need additional gimbal for stabilization. Or the OSS isn't enough generally and X1000+gimbal should do better?
@Kongsumer7 жыл бұрын
If you are going to shoot 4K, I would 100% get the X3000. The fisheye on the X1000 is bad. You also don't have stabilization in 4K on the x1000. If you can shoot 1080, then you'll be OK with the x1000. I never shot 4K with the X1000 b/c the fisheye was so bad to me. My X3000 has not overheated on me, but that can really depend on your environment and what you are doing. I usually record in shorter clips. Also, it is really nice with the x3000 that you can walk around without a gimbal and get good footage. Thanks for watching!
@JohnnyBeFilms7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, exactly - not having another tool such as additional stabilizer is a very tempting pro. It's just the price difference, damn... I think I;m gonna just wait for it to drop a lil bit then. And the quality of the image itself isn't any worse on the X3000 compared to X1000? I've heared some ppl say the X3000 is a lil bit worse most of the time. Not counting the less fish eye effect ofcourse, cuz in this aspect the X3000 kills the X1000 no question. The X3000 uses a tad smaller sensor (1/2.5" instead of 1/2.3") so maybe this is why the image looks a lil bit better on X1000. Unfortunately I could'nt check it my self as I don't own any of these cameras. Maybe the low light performance is better on X1000? Have you checked that?
@JohnnyBeFilms7 жыл бұрын
Also, what do you mean that in 4K the fish eye is worst? It's any better in 1080p if the FOV is the same? Or in 4K the FOV is the widest and you can't get such a wide FOV in other resolutions?
@Kongsumer7 жыл бұрын
I would say the low light on both is not great. I didn't do a side by side comparison b/c I honestly can't stand how the 4K is on the x1000. I wrote on the sony site about it. If you are doing KZbin videos, it won't matter as much. You can see some footage with the x3000 in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mne1dqGOer2ga6M&lc=z12wijmwgy3sgd41r23tzdtr3rnbznjml.1493942093638160 It looks good to me for an action cam.
@Kongsumer7 жыл бұрын
Yes, in 1080 w/ x1000v, it is not as wide and the distortion is a LOT better. The stabilization is also pretty good. This is a kid type video, but I recorded the entire video with the x1000v: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3LKp5qmZ7uofdU Correct, the x1000v will adjust the FOV based on the resolution. You can't do super wide @1080.
