Great video thanks! I'm thinking of hiking Koningstein in July. We're going to stay at White Lady Lodge first and then hike. Can you tell me exactly where I need to go to get a permit and guide? We'll sort out our own food, do we need to supply with the guide? And finally, I see you summited first then spent the night. I've heard of some people getting to the pools, staying the night then summiting. Why did you choose to do it the way you did? Thank you! Jordan

Thank you! I also stayed at White Lady Lodge before the hike (check out my video on Namibian campsites, white lady lodge blew my mind). You have to get the permit in advance, you can email info@nhc-nam.org and call them their number is on the website. The guide will have his own food. I did it that way coz we reached the pools at noon. It was way to early to set up camp so we continued to the summit.

@@AfricanHiker Thank you so much for this info! Yes I watched that video and it got me so amped on the White Lady Lodge! Hope to see the desert elephants too :) I think we'll do three nights in the area - two camping at the lodge and one hiking. Then we'll head to Spitzkoppe - did you go there?

You are going to have the best time. I have not yet been to Spitzkoppe, it is on the list though.

Great video Anita! Have you done the highest peaks in Lesotho and Swaziland? I hope to be doing both this year.

Hi Tim 🙋🏿♀️ Thank you. I have done Swaziland (b4 I created this channel so no video on it) and I'm planning on doing Lesotho this year. Hoping to do it in the snow ❄

@@AfricanHiker That's great. I found a tour company that takes people up to do the hike. Will you go through a tour company or do it yourself? I'm very keen to do it myself.

I'm also keen to do it myself, however not solo, with someone who is experienced in berg hikes. Ive looked at the gps track, and it doesn't seem too complicated tho. Do you want to start at the lodge or from the bottom of the mountain?

@African Hiker . I'm going through a Tour Company called the Drakensberg Hiker. They're planning on going up at the end of July. We will 4x4 up Sani Pass and then it's a 3 day hike. They posted a video about the hike.

Namibia is my favourite place. Have hiked at Spitzkoppe? That water flavour is from the frogs🤣

Mine too 🧡 I haven't yet, but this isn't my last trip to Namibia so I'll hike it at some point. Lol 🐸
