I have a question for you. Since you were neat and tidy as a child, did siblings make fun of you? Mine made fun of me a lot, and I am 66 now, and when I clean and organize, I still feel shame. Isn't that strange? I was wondering if you ever experienced that.
@IntegratedSpirituality113 жыл бұрын
@@petmomful2260 I want less things as possible but I am not very organized honestly (I think that a secondary reason of my being minimalist is that I don't wanna waste time cleaning and organizing, so the less the better). My brother is the opposite, he has a lot of things but he is super organized and clean. But we never made fun of each other.. I am sorry to hear your story :(

@@petmomful2260 i am not neat and tidy but my clean knit friends ans family are lol. And let me tell you, when my little sister or best friends visits me and cleans and organizing my house... I am grateful to tears okay. I buy them food and pay for outtings just to gove back. As a mom, mental space equates to physical space and it can be overwhelming sometimes. I am saying all of that to say... For every tease they sent your way due to your neatness, someone like me would appreciate you ten fold on amy given day lol. Im organized but its not always pretty lol. I declutter every few months lol. Spread your unicorn wings and help a friend out. They might cry tears of joy for your help. I believe it prevents mental exhaustion as real gratitude generates positive chemistry and helps to reduce our stress levels.Excited to continue and join the process in about 5 more minutes.

YES. I totally agree. Taking everything out at one time is too overwhelming for me as well. I recently decluttered my cabinets. I decided to take out what I KNEW I didn’t want and put it in a donate box. then I pulled the rest out and decluttered further in the space I had designated for each Item. It helped me declutter further because it didn’t all fit. Mr have NOT missed the items we decided to let go. 💞. Great Job. I was feeling for you during your declutter.

One small suggestion: Along with thinking about what stuff you can get rid of from a drawer or cabinet, it could be a good idea to think about what SHOULD be in there. I always take a glass of water to set on my nightstand at night but I also keep a fresh bottle of water in the cabinet in case I have a particularly thirsty night. It's useful to keep a flashlight in your bedside cabinet, in case you have to deal with a power outage. If you live somewhere where earthquakes are a risk, a pair of hard-soled sturdy shoes, a pair of leather work gloves and a pry-bar are a good idea, in case you have to pry open a door, walk over broken glass or move fallen debris to get at other family members. Or those things can be kept in a box under the bed if they won't be unsightly. Since I'm at an age of heart attack risk, I keep a bottle of aspirin in my cabinet, too, along with an extra bottle of my vitamin D pills in case I forgot to take it during the day.
@whitneypea3 жыл бұрын
Those are all great ideas, we thankfully live in an area where natural disasters don’t really happen! We do keep flash lights all over the house, and as far as water, I always have my 40 ounce tumblr filled with water every night so I never have to worry about running out ☺️

I am putting my two cents in. This is just for me and not for everyone. But if I want indulge my watch and soothe my OCD I would want calm relaxing music. However, I am fighting a battle to take my house back without help and a lot of resistance. Calm and soothing is what I will have after I declutter my house and get it back on track. So I need as much energy as I can get and upbeat music does help A LOT! This is just my take on the question of music. Loving motivation!

@@whitneypea if I remember correctly some of the music you have been getting from epedemic sound. It's like $14 a month to use the music on youtube videos. They say Spotify is good too. If I hear of others I will let you know. In "wish" land it would be great to add the voice over then lay out two tracks. One upbeat and one soothing and upload both. One it would let you see which one gets the more views and likes and would let you see what the majority wants but it would I please both audiences. But I know that it doesn't work that way and two do both in one week would be an exhausting amount of time. Just know I am a fan and appreciate the time you take to answer back. You will grow quickly! I have berm following Jamie's Journey for a year! She and I talk off and on. I told her the same and she has or about to hit 100k. You will be there fast too. I meeded this inspiration! I am having to declutter my uncle's house for the second time this year. They are both hoarders but my aunt is worse. He has been trying to get rid of stuff. Because he is having health issues, he can't do as much and he is getting aggravated with her cause she keeps buying stuff that she doesn't need. They had at least two month of clothes that needed to be washed. Because their dryer isn't the best, it took me literally 2 weeks to wash, dry and put up laundry. I'm worn out needless to say an I have just one more week with them before heading back home.

Once you figure out what they go to, label each one. Great job! I need to go organize something!

You can use dollar clothesline clips from a dollar for Chips & other packages. I have heard that oils & other types of those jars are supposed to be kept in a dark place. So, maybe it would be a good idea, if you put it to 1 side of the pantry. Your music is fine. Where did you get your 2tier gray, metal thing that you showed in video, while was wiping off the counertop?

Konmari never worked much for me cause for exp I cant exactly tell Which jumper is which when they are folded. Also the shirts in your bin are on the top of each other. I had this too and it made me forget Some of them and by mistake buy similar ones

That’s just because they were being put away for the season, my normal shirts are folded so you can see everything!

Unfortunately the area we live in, the Big thrift store is still close until next month. When they do open again they are limiting items. They were so overwhelmed with the last closing for covid. They were not accepting donations. The other thrift stores are also limiting items or quantity. So trying to declutter is a slow process. Very frustrating. On a side note Love watching your videos.

Our thrift stores are the same way! Decluttering has been difficult in that aspect as well. I have about 10 bags of clothes in our garage just waiting to be donated 🥴

i have after a move not a attic, basement and garage and that is so freeing. i have two very smal sheds but that is enough. a garage, basement and attic is for storring deferred desicions.
