Konnan BLASTS AEW Star Konosuke Takeshita For Using Eddie Guerrero's Frog Splash

Japanese sensation and AEW wrestler Konosuke Takeshita apparently should "stick to his nationality" and not pay homage to superstars of other ethnicities, as he did on Dynamite last week.
On the latest episode of his Keepin' It 100 podcast, Konnan blasted Takeshita for paying tribute to Eddie Guerrero in his hometown of El Paso, Texas. During his AEW World Championship eliminator match against Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Konosuke gave an Eddie-like shimmy on the turnbuckle before attempting a frog splash, an homage that several non-Mexican wrestlers have paid to the late Guerrero throughout the years.
“Well Takeshita, whatever, he’s got heat with me, and he’s lucky I wasn’t in El Paso. Because when he went up, and he did the Eddie Guerrero thing for the frog splash, you’re not Mexican dude, I don’t care… Stick to your nationality.”

Fun fact, Art Barr didn't create the Frog Splash, it was another Luchadore called La Fiera in the 80's. But Art Barr did popularized it, and then Eddie did it as tribute after his passing and popularized it even more.

Nah dude, unless they tried making the Spinarooni or Scissors Kick their thing without tweaking it a little bit, there is no disrespect here with Konosuke Takeshita doing a Frog Splash tribute to Eddie Guerrero when first off, he names eddie as one of his biggest inspirations in wrestling, and 2nd it's in Eddie's hometown of El Paseo Texas, a place that LOVES pro wrestling and Eddie Guerrero DESPITE WWE never being there since 2004 for any big shows. This was the first time a major Pro Wrestling company in almost 10 YEARS had a televised show in El Paseo, so if ANYBODY was going to tribute Eddie and do it at a time and place, Konosuke was the PERFECT guy to do it and in the right place and time.

El Paso is the Guerrero family' s territory for decades. Take-a-shit looked stupid doing the Eddie trademark moves. Konnan was a good friend of Eddie's and wrestle for the Guerrero family in El Paso in his early years. First off, Takeshita. Second, Eddie didn't create the Frog Splash, nor did his former tag partner in Art Barr did. It was another Luchador in the 80's called La Fiera. But besides that, it was clearly a TRIBUTE to Eddie, not disrespectful in ANY way shape or form. Seth Rollins has been doing it for years as a tribute yet he ain't Lantino, guess what? Nobody gives a shit Seth ain't Latino because it is a TRIBUTE to Eddie, and whether you like Konosuke or not, this is the LAST thing you should criticize about the guy when AEW was in El Paseo, Texas for the first time, a place that hasn't had a major televised wrestling show there for over 9 years since WWE was there in 2004. So out of EVERY time ANYONE did the Frog Splash in tribute to Eddie, and out of ALL the places and times to do it, THIS was the most respectful you can get with an Eddie Guerrero Frog Splash tribute.
