This is a great point. I don’t think anybody is shocked that he won’t speak about it and I don’t fault him he’s be an idiot to speak in depth on a pending legal matter. But the issue with TK is that he has presented himself as someone who will be transparent and he largely hasn’t been. And that’s where the issues stem from. When wwe stays mum nobody really cares because we just know that’s how they run and they’ve never tried to tell the public differently. It changes when you have somebody like TK who has held out to the public that he will be transparent and then hasn’t been. Even worse to go on an interview and have nothing prepared to address it whatsoever. And it’s always annoying to listen to him do interviews because he has a knack for speaking for long periods of time but says little to nothing of substance. And then you mix in how often he’s rumbling on social media and it’s like how are you going to be posting on Twitter all the time but then go on an almost hour long interview and say little to nothing of value.

TK has been impressive in the sense that most issues that arise surrounding him are largely self-imposed. Nobody would care if he didn’t speak on this issue. But they do care because he has held himself out to be transparent and chose to do an interview. And then spent the entire time essentially answering nothing. Or the issues with talent. Nobody realistically thought AEW had a perfect locker room. But because Tony presented the farce for so long it blew up when it was shown to be untrue. So much of the issue anybody has with the guy is a result from the fact that he presented himself as different than that and then did the opposite behavior. And for the longest time he got away with it. But the honeymoon is over and people are tired of it.

Tony has ruined every good thing he's ever had. Wardlow was really hot and then he cooled him off. Danielson was the biggest heel in the business so Tony jobbed him out and put him in a babyface stable and he still loses all the time. MJF was really hot so he took him off TV until recently. Pillman Jr. was hot after the Dark Side of the Ring episode aired, so Tony had to ruin that too. Luchasaurus was over after turning on Jungle Boy, so Tony had to have him double and triple turn to make sure he fucked it up. FTR were really over, so Tony took them off AEW TV for a while. People have to stop acting like Tony knows what he's doing. He's just playing real life fantasy booker and throwing shit together.

Ariel and Tony seemed to have some type of past conflict that they briefly went into at the start of the interview. I think it still lingered a little , and affected this interview. Tony didn't seem to fully trust Ariel, or like him that much

I’m not sure of their history but I imagine it partially stems from the MJF interview he did. I know there was initially an issue with it not having been cleared with the AEW office. And I think I had read somewhere that Ariel had talked to somebody but it just happened to not have been the right person. But besides that can’t imagine TK is a big fan of Ariel after the MJF interview. MJF made AEW look second tier and then tons of drama fell out following it. And I can see TK holding Ariel partially to blame for it in his mind. But also Ariel is a different breed from the media TK usually speaks to. He’s accustomed to the wrestling media who largely are deferential to him and AEW where he never has to field a tough question. Ariel on the other hand is a genuine journalist in his field and doesn’t give that gloves hands treatment that TK is used to. Tony avoids criticism and conflict as it comes to the media. Look no further than the fact that the minute he got into a disagreement with Bully ok Busted Open that Bully is no longer on the shoes that TK appears on.

I have to play devil's advocate here for a second: Why would someone keep asking questions about that specific situation if it's obvious they won't get an answer? Of course he won't say anything about it. It's a contentious situation. Tensions are already high and in some cases it's a legal issue. Yeah everything Konnan said here is the spot. Ariel will work with people, he understands pro wrestling and people need to be about the work. What Tony did wasn't a very good look. Ariel needs to ask the questions he did. He'd get nothing but grief from people if he didn't (not that he cares), but he can't give Khan a pass. Tony doesn't need to answer specifics about what happened, he also doesn't need to do that interview. One thing Konnan said that was off, TK can't speak to what he was thinking because that's public record now. If he answers that question with Ariel, and he's asked again under oath, and his answers don't line up, he could be looking at a bigger issue.

Not only is AEW's honeymoon period over, but it's been over for quite some time. I'd say it's been over ever since they hit their 1 year anniversary of being on TV. And yeah, not commenting on so many questions is pretty ridiculous. Why even have the interview then? Kind of a waste of everyone's time.
