To me, SNME is there for the WWE to show off what they are on network TV. The production was amazing, it felt big time, we got what was essentially a sped up PLE, we didn't need to wait 15 minutes between matches and didn't need to sit through WWE produced adverts (can't do much about network TV adverts). I'm not sure what you guys wanted out of this show but WWE simply put on a very good wrestling event without BS which flowed well and didn't outstay it's welcome.

Back in the day, SNME was special, because it pre-dated Raw and Nitro, so it was a very rare occasion to see non-squash matches on free television. Also, the show aired at 11:30 pm, so that it seemed like adult television. Saturday at 8 pm is the hour set aside for children with their babysitters. This was like an extra episode of Raw or Smackdown.

Lol! SNME had the best ratings of any show this week by a mile! The show was good and served it’s purpose. Yes its was a big infomercial for the wwe but thats part of what tv specials are. This show was to attract new viewers and I’m ok with it. Who said it was supposed to be a ple type event? They just said they were bringing it back. What happened after the show was for the marks and we all saw it! And to me they replaced promos with recaps to let new viewers know the back stories. And to me the one promo with Rhea was great because most first time viewers are gonna flip when they see a character like her and wanna see more of her and just like clock work they show up on raw with another promo to back that up.

The purpose of a SNME is to bring in new or lapsed fans by showcasing the biggest stars. This was a nice card with good matches, but the show came off like one of the less important PLEs. There was no Orton, Jey, Roman, Bloodline, Heyman, Punk, Bianca, Nia, Tiffany, Knight, Bron, Dominick, Rey, Rock or Cena. The Women's US Title should have been on a PLE or as a Smackdown main event. Kevin Owens isn't as big of a star as others that were left off, yet he was in the main event. They also left off the most important part of that match - the attack after the match ended. None of this makes sense. It would have been better to have Drew vs Jey (with Sami at ringside). That way the people watching can experience Jey's intro and think that Jey is a huge star. And when Drew defeats Jey (not necessarily clean), the fans will know that Drew is also a huge star. Instead of the Women's US title match, they could have had a Tiffany vs Bianca match with the MITB briefcase on the line. With Nia's help, Tiffany would retain her MITB contract. These three women are bigger stars and would draw in more repeat viewers. Since Jesse Ventura was there, they could have given Karrion Kross a rub by Kross (with Scarlett, of course) coming out to impersonate and ridicule Ventura, but when it turns into physical harassment by Kross, there would be a save by either Randy Orton with an RKO, or maybe even LA Knight instead of Orton. This would just be a segment, not necessarily a match, but it would feature two more stars that you can get more people invested in. The Gunther/Priest/Balor match was fine for this show, as was the Liv/Iyo match; although it would have made sense for Dominick to be at ringside and for Rhea to come out sooner to stop Dominick and to confront Liv in the ring instead of near the entryway. Again - more eyes on the stars and more potential investment. The main event should not have been Kevin Owens. There are bigger stars to showcase that are more interesting. Perhaps right after Survivor Series, Punk could have challenged Cody for a title shot on SNME. Cody could have turned Punk down due to Punk having missed so much time and that there are others ahead of him right now. Before getting too deep into cutting promos on each other, Roman and Paul could have come out and proclaim that Roman should get a rematch for the championship since Roman had such a historical run. After arguing and disagreement, Aldis would come out and rule that Punk, indeed, is not quite yet deserving a title opportunity ahead of others, but since Roman held the title for so long, then he would grant Roman a title shot. As a twist, Aldis would declare CM Punk as special referee in the match, and if he called it fairly, then it would work in Punk's favor to get a title shot sooner rather than later. Along the way, Heyman would be reminding Punk that Heyman owes Punk a favor and insinuates that if Roman wins against Cody in this rematch with Punk as referee, then Punk could find himself as the number one contender to face Roman at the Royal Rumble. The drama going into SNME's championship match would be on Punk's actions, plus it's a huge match featuring wrestling's two biggest stars (three, counting Punk). Cody would win due to Solo and Jacob's interference, which would deepen the grudge between Roman and Solo, and Heyman would still owe Punk that favor; plus the baby face wins - but with some intrigue attached. And everything is shown on the broadcast, not online behind the scenes right afterward. SNME is a special national network tv broadcast. Showcase the superstars with mass appeal, not just what we regular-viewing fans enjoy. I don't think the card that was aired had all that mass appeal to it, despite the quality matches. It needed to be an invitation to see their biggest stars, but it was more like a B-level PLE. I think the WWE could have done a lot better with this opportunity. Man, they could have even kicked off Cena's farewell tour with an appearance here, or even by having The Rock show up too. This show was decent, but it should have been so much more if they're trying to expand the audience to draw the casuals back into the fold.

Disco just learned in 2024 that a commercial segment is 3:30 seconds? This has literally been the format my entire life. an hour show is actually about 42 minutes. a 1/2 show is about a 21 minute show. On netflix they'll just shorten the show to account for the lack of ad breaks. ... this isn't science goodness a football game is 60-minutes. the games run for 3-3.5 hours. so you literally have half the air time being filled with ad breaks i feel like the only reason to run SNME with the retro colors, music, Jess the Body, was to try and lure older fans like me who grew up with the program. Otherwise there is no reason to bring in the old stuff that younger fans probably have little appreciation of. Sadly for fans like me, beyond the logo, music, Jesse the Body it was still a typical WWE show

Mega Powers forming, Hogan losing to Andre, and Savage turning on Hogan. Except for those three major angles, SNME was always a glorified house show. KO giving Cody the Piledriver should have been on network TV and not social media. Otherwise, it was an old school show. Matches were quick, just like the 80s.
@anxofernandez334426 күн бұрын
I actually liked it. I loved to see Chelsea Green as new US champ and the finish of the main event and the post match were great. They give Kevin Owens more reasons to hate Cody and resent him for being the "golden boy" and it gives Cody Rhodes an edge and opens again the possibility of a heel turn down the road, maybe after WrestleMania. Liv and IYO had a good match but I didn't like Rhea coming out again and I hope they end this feud soon; I hope it's one more match on Raw on Netflix, Rhea wins, Liv and Raquel are transferred to SmackDown, IYO Sky wins the Royal Rumble and challenges Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania and Liv & Raquel win the tag team titles. Drew vs Sami was okay but I wouldn't have had it on the card, maybe Ludwig vs Bron Breakker would've been more appropriate and more interesting. Gunther vs Priest vs Balor was an excellent match and it should be the end of Gunther's involvement with either of them. Finn and Damian can have one last match on Netflix, like a No DQ or Last Man Standing, and then be on different brands. Judgement Day should go to SmackDown, have a different environment. All and all, good matches, a couple of great moments and the rest was kinda filler but still good.

I didn't watch it but it does seem pointless. During it's initial run in the 1980's, wrestling wasn't on TV double digit hours per week and there were only 4 PPVs a year. Now there is so much that a show like this doesn't feel necessary. It reminds me of when the Clash of Champions in WCW started feeling unimportant. And from what I heard, this SNME had a lower audience than most Raws despite being on free TV as opposed to cable so it seems unlikely this comeback will even last a full year.

So, I was ready for it. Got good video. We had a great time because of the crowd and the energy. The matches were ok. But, this was disappointing overall. I went thinking it would be memorable.
