Well season 2 has debunked this. As shown on episode 3. Megumin is seen practicing with her incantations... after a few words she would stop and revise it multiple times to make it sound "cooler".

Megumin has a charm that really no other anime character has had for me, maybe it's her young, immature design and mannerisms, maybe it's the fact that she is the most powerful character of the main 4 but is completely useless after one attack, basically making her a cooldown-based Saitama, maybe it's her wonderfully designed clothing, maybe it's the awesome fucking explosions, maybe it's the unique, gibberish chant she gives when she uses them, or maybe it's her hat. I *really* like her hat.

Regarding Megumin's different chants, I feel like that's less of her being an explosion magic genius and more her being a chuuni. No one else needs to chant anything when they cast, they just say the name of the spell, and most of her explosions look the same if not very similar, so I feel like she just chants random stuff that sounds cool. Plus we even see her practicing/making up different chants while waiting outside the dungeon in Season 2 Episode 3.
