@ Why wouldn't a goddess who lives forever be aware of mortal inventions? Throughout the series she's shown knowledge of various things. Heck, she even knew what a rifle was in the movie. Where has it been stated that as a goddess, she can only see events prior to death? Not only is that very ambiguous, it doesn't even really make sense. How would she know he's a NEET? She also saw the events after Kazuma's death about how the doctors and his family were laughing at his cause of death. Don't make stuff up if it's not directly stated.

I think chunchunmaru already break ^^ it's originally long katana before kazuma sick of it and turn it to short katana (wakizashi,I think)

The blacksmith wasn’t familiar with the smithing process of making a Katana. He had to go off Kazuma’a description of folding the metal and tempering the blade.

The hardening technique mentioned talks about the Japanese practice of putting multiple layers of steel into one thin piece of equipment. This was made to make it lightweight, yet stronger than crudely made swords. The process involves a lot of flattening and folding, which could go up to thousands of layers in one thin sword.

The sword was hardened, otherwise it wouldn't have been curved, the curve comes during the quenching process when the differently hardened steels contract differently, curving the blade.

Ok, sword comment here. Katanas are not the same as Damascus steel. There may have been similarities in the forging process, but katanas lack the distinctive scaling and are made of far lower quality iron. Presumably, in the show the specific tempering methodology would not matter, as that only historically mattered as a result of Japan’s low quality iron. Furthermore, the specific folding techniques utilized to make katanas actually has a negative impact upon the quality of better grades of steel, as it repeatedly exposes the interior of the blade to air, allowing impurities to enter the blade. ( It’s still effective with Japan’s native iron, but too many folds will wreck even that. TLDR: It doesn’t matter if Chunchunmaru was made properly or not, because the entire process behind making a katana is effectively compensating for Japan’s terrible iron quality.

Thank you for explaining that so well. I often get frustrated when a fanfic writer praises this or that supersword made or found for/by the main character for being folded a ridiculous amount of times, as though each time the metal was folded somehow ADDED to the strength of the sword. With perfect steel, you wouldn't even need to fold once. Katana are decent swords, yes, but the most special thing about them (other than their looks which are fairly unique and pretty good looking) is that they are the result of compensating for lousy materials and succeeding pretty well at it.

15:44: Yes, Eris and Chris are the same person. But unlike Aqua, who was sent to the fantasy world as she is and with all her power, "Chris" is something like a shell that Eric inhabits and she has no divine power in that body. However, her luck stat is so high that her adventurer card glitches out because it simply cannot be measured.
